sn1perb0y challenge

As exams are going to an end, I am going to have a lot of free time to play poker (from the 17th December to 5th Jan). I have been a loosing player since i started playing until August 2013 where i began to be at +$EV and go to even and so on..

I don't know how hard is the goal is but i'm pretty sure it is achievable and i'll prove it :D

My bankroll will start at 400.00 and will be playing on pokerstars in any MTT from 0-$4.40. My routine would be going to the GYM early morning and then start at 11am, play all MTTs untill the ones that start at 4-5pm so that they would end around 11pm if I go deep.I'll also be playing 4 tables at once max and readd if i bust. My goal is to make $2000. Any advice i can have?

Starting on Dec 17th

  • Good luck with this !! Hopefully I'll be following in your footsteps in a couple of months.

I'd suggest putting a "stop loss" for the day. Say $20-$40, that way you don't go crazy and bust your roll in 3 bad days.

Also, take time to review your tournaments in a re-player (at least once a week and not while playing). Even self analysis, away from the heat of the battle, will make you go "what was I thinking" with some hands. Universal re-player is the one I use and its free.
  • Thank you Dj, having a day off to review hands is a great idea,i do review hands on holdem manger from time to time, probably i'll put Mondays to do that thank you a lot :D
  • gym is good idea
make sure you dink lots of water
stay in school. just ask JAH
    good luck
  • gl!

i'm off of work from dec. 21 to jan. 5 so hopefully i'll be actually playing some poker finally. maybe i'll see you at the tables!
  • Good luck man! I would advise the "stop loss" rule. I usually try to play around 3-5 tournaments when I know I'm going to play that day, I only play once or twice a week so I usually try to get a decent amount of playing time in on my days off work.

I'm definitely staying to finish my degree,i just love poker and want to have the best time playing when i don't have to study :)

I have gained A LOT of weight by eating fast food because of uni pressures and no time to cook healthy food etc..

Haha i hope the streak goes on and make it, would be nice to get 3rd in every 2 tournys :D

Even Daniel Negreanu can't do that:cool2:

Edit: Playing 2.50 180man turbo, a small one before studying :D
out in 93rd, next tourny im getting 3rd :D

    Edit2: playing 2.20R 500cap 3kGTD out -10
    playing 2.20 2R1A 4kGTD out -4 (forgot to addon)
  • When's the next BAP going to happen? I'm in for 10-20%.
  • I really wana play some wcoops when i do well in this game but its toooooooo early im just starting at 2-4$ and see how it goes. Maybe I'll do a sunday BAP but the problem is that I don't multi-table a lot. I play 2 tables most of the time and max is 4 tables (which isn't often), which doesn't allow me to make a good BAP + the buyins i play are too small.

Piggypie123: You railed me from 9 players to 3 players i guess. Do you mind telling me how well i played and any play you think was wrong or a leak?
    I'd appreciate it...

    Cheers
  • You could have a BAP that goes on for multiple days. Just play like 4 tourneys per day or something like that. Although i do think taking it slow is a good idea.

You played great! I'm not the best player to be asking about leaks and such, but I thought tou played a solid FT.

I loved my call on the river with J-T if you saw that :P
I thought u'd have some thoughts on specific stuff :( but thanx :D
  • Ya that was awesome for like a 3million $ pot. I was going to mention that but couldnt think of what you had. It was early lol.

  • Be careful of early success. You may feel like you own the game and start playing too many tables or too high buy ins and before you know it, your roll is half of what it was, or worse.

Winning a $4 tournament should be just as satisfying as winning an $20 tourney. Its playing as good as you can, not about how much money you won.

That's what I love about poker (and golf for that matter), no matter how good you think you did, there is always room to get better.

I am aware of that, just wanted to play these as a "gift" to myself as i stopped playing these for a while. Also this thread keeps me in control of what i play because it keeps me committed to the plan i set for myself (idk if that makes sense) anyway thank you :)

To be honest, poker has taken a lot of time from my studying and i feel my grades dropped this semester.. I will be playing a lot this holiday and try to make a balanced schedule (which im terrible in doing) to do better at school starting next semester.
I don't think i'll be dropping school, unless I win an insane cash which wont happen anytime soon. I got a year and a half left and also these were just 2 cashes where maybe i was on a good run so I doubt risking my degree ever...

I met a guy still studying in UW who made over 300k in MTT earnings online and he is still studying.. I'm a fish compared to him to just think of dropping school..

I'm studying Bio-medical science and want to enter a medical school. which is a loong ass way to complete, its a grind just as poker :P
