Here is what I recorded for the Fallsview game distribution as of 11:45 PM:
    - One 10/25
    - Nine 5/10
    - Four 2/5
    - One 5/5 PLO
    - I didn't see a single satellite run in the poker room! :o By killing the $125 and $235 satellites, there are not enough players willing to pay $1,050 or $550 CASH to play hyper turbos, including me! Fallsview thinks that there are too many $1,050 and $550 unused vouchers that needs to be used up, but the fact is that most of these vouchers have been bought up by ONE person, which has killed the satellite player pool. :-\

They were running 550 and 1050 in the grand ballroom at night

I checked into Ramada's ~$15/night deal, along with a friend who was given his own room (adjoining) for the same great deal. I am currently booked to return to the luxurious Embassy Suites on Thursday (and possibly Sunday) night with free breakfast & free wine reception, so if anybody I know wants the other bedroom in the two-room suite, let me know ASAP. Otherwise, if I'm just by myself, I might cancel the good value deal at Embassy Suites and stick with Ramada.
I find the breaks of 15 minutes too short. By the time I finish writing my notes with the allowed non-electronic paper and pen, then lining up for the washroom, then players wanting to talk to me, I barely make it on time to avoid the TDA's first-card-off-the-deck rule.

I therefore hereby dub this the "Christmas Morning Sweat". Be good to us Santa Buddy
  • Still in $275 super sat. 61 left, 40 win $2,500. At average of $33K. Wish me luck!

    gl...
  • 45 players left in super sat. BlondeFish is still in
  • Won the satellite, along with a couple of other forumers. The $2,500 Event may sell out by the morning. I am seriously considering selling the $2,500+ entry.
  • Good job Sniper, Ram, and BF!

    Unfortunately I Busted out early in 350th JJJ>KK :/

Curious, will the markup be worth as much as a min cash? Will you play the $2500 anyway? (You have a few right?)

I'm still kind of confused. Does that count as a $2500 cash or as a cash for whatever you sell it for? I was personally hoping you'd play as many of the actual events as possible.
  • As always, I will try to do what I think maximizes my EV/ROI. Just like at the WSOP I played before, after four days in the Main Event, I am now starting to feel burnt out. I have been grinding at Fallsview since December and felt it during the $1100 Event. I played another 7+ hours in the super satellite tonight.

Just like the other 3 tournaments have sold out already, the $2,500 WPT Event #2 only has ~30 entries left and will probably sell out by the morning. If I end up playing just the $550 super satellite and not the $2.5/5K events, then the investors are guaranteed a profit and they will get a higher share of whatever I sell the ~$2500+ entry for. Colin408 or other forumers will probably be around when I sell the entry.

  • I'm in this for peanuts anyway, but I like this decision. If you can place 70th or higher without playing a hand, or therotically outlast 80% of the field..well, doesn't get much easier. Big "EV" regret of mine was picking up my first $550 Regina seat at below face value and then deciding not to sell at $1100 at a sold out event with tons of people willing to pay. I wasn't good enough to ship it and this would have gtd 30th or better money...
  • Hey Buddy I sent you a viber message. Don't think I'm gonna make it over tonight... Really tired from being at the casino all day yesterday. Going to try and sleep until around 8.
  • After being holed up in Niagara Falls since February 12 & grinding almost every day, I am taking a well deserved day off today from the WPT Wars. If SteveKerr, westside8, Colin408, any BAP investor, or anybody else I know is interested in any of the following, email/phone me:

    - Split my two-room Presidential suite tonight (Thursday). I'm on a corner suite in the 41st floor of Embassy Suites. The view, fireplace, Jacuzzi, etc. are fantastic!
    - Free Evening Reception at Embassy Suites with alcoholic drink & snacks at 5:30-7 PM tonight.
    - Free made-to-order breakfast on Friday morning 8:30-9:30 AM.
    - Group dinner tonight, e.g., tournament 45-minute break around 6:30 PM? Ruth's Chris Steak House, Outback Steakhouse, The Keg Steakhouse, IHOP or TGI Fridays?

The wife and I always stay at the Embassy... just can't be beat for what you get. Good luck the rest of the week man.
  • Any idea what wait times are like for 2/5 and 5/10 later on at night? like 10-11? Fallsview poker room sucks at answering there phone. I want to head down tonight but would hate to get there and wait around for hours.
  • After winning the super satellite, my friend & I waited around for hours. In my case, I wanted the $1,050 satellite but it has gone dead because the $235 satellites are not being run. The satellite table was eventually closed down, & my friend & I went back to my hotel late without having played a single hand in the poker room.

  • So you playing the $550 then possibly the $5k then? Assuming you dumped the 2.5 at face or close?
  • Back from Falls-view, ended great yesterday.. got a ticket from the super-satty and thought I wont be playing my A game because of the huge buy-in that i would be thinking of at the back of my head that i could of got 2500$ in cash..Also the best players in Ontario would be playing it which i'm probably not one of them. Sooo i sold it :p

Met the one and only blondfish at the break, i saw someone writing some notes about blinds and stacks and i had the courage to ask him and i was right.. It was a pleasure to meet him :D

Saw westside and colin as well which was great to see some forum members :D

Good luck to everyone playing the main event :)

If you don't feel comfortable with such a big buy-in and it will affect your decision making, definitely a wise choice in selling it.

or sell some of your action....always people who wish they were there who buy action instead

I thought of that as well, but the satellite ended at around 11pm and the tournament was next day at 12 noon so i thought i didn't have much time.

Also i have no live cashes, i have played 2 super satellites 1 in Montreal and this one (got both tickets) took my shot in Montreal and busted in 4 hours. So i don't have a record in live tournaments...other than that its only 5-10$ online Mtts and small house tournaments.

Maybe I'll use that money playing the small tournaments(100-300 buy in) at playground that is hosted by pokerstars and bink something or the super satellite for the 3300 since i am 2/2 in the super satellites :D
Got some time to improve on lots and lots of leaks i have to fix till may.

Now THAT is a very mature and smart decision imo. Well done.

There is no room in this forum for smart and mature decisions. :D
  • Today's mishandled (yet again!) $550 super satellite will be part of this guaranteed-to-be-profitable BAP. As I messaged you, there are a couple of reasons why I don't plan to play Fallsview's $5K event. :-X

  • Out of the super satellite. Short-stacked, I pushed with AT; player woke up with TT.

It is super super tempting to play the event after winning the ticket, the confidence boost you get finishing top 10% and playing a 2500 event which i paid 275$ for. Thank you :D
  • Did stevekerr win anything yet??
  • 47 left in the 40-seat super satellite. Hollywoods17 is still in, along with a couple of other friends.
  • Bubble time for the <= $5,000 prize. I love this part! :-[

I've talked to a lot of average players about this. And almost all of them sold off their 2.5k and 5k seats, just to have a profitable week. I would actually like more insight on this, because how I see it, you just scored yourself a shot at a quarter million dollars, and you didn't take the chance to win it. What is having 2k in profit for the week? Doesn't going to work at a regular job score you this in a month anyways?

I probably should start a different thread on this topic, but it really feels like this is one of the reasons 'poker is dying'. I mean, if everyone wasn't shy about playing the $2500 tournament that they won seats for, I think we would've had over 800 runners for that tournament.
