MyVegas real rewards in vegas

  • Just signed up for MyVegas 2 days ago. Lets see how long it takes to accumulate gold chips. So far I have only unlocked 10 auto spins. I can't wait to unlock 200 auto spins so I can leave it while I do more important things.
  • i decided to get this about a week ago as well. figured what the hell.

btw, not sure if anyone has noticed this but there are big differences between the facebook app and the android app. yes, the games are different, but that's not what i'm talking about. the amount of points you accumulate are very different. my gf plays on her tablet and i use my laptop on facebook, and facebook generates WAY more loyalty points. she plays more than i do yet i have more than double her points.
  • It's true, the phone app gives far less, mostly because the casinos you can build through facebook will randomly pay out in gold chips instead of the red chips.

However, I find that often I will pull out the laptop while I am watching tv and spin away on my phone at the same time for some double dipping.

If you saw my post in b&m forum, I just cashed in between my wife's account and I for 4 nights at Monte Carlo and one night at Aria (3 rewards total each account per 30 day period). I am holding one reward for either another night at Aria or some show tickets.
  • I never did find any MyVegas webpage that bothered to tell you the bottom line of the value of the rewards and which are the best per loyalty points (LP) spent. Unlike most poker or gaming sites, it seems that MyVegas penalizes its most loyal players as the value becomes worse the higher LP you redeem, e.g., TWO free buffets require four times more LP than ONE free buffet! Since I already have eight free hotel nights, we'll probably redeem our ~95,000 LP and six rewards from among the following.

    1) 4,500 LP - Mandalay Bay, Bayside 2-for-1 lunch/breakfast buffet (M-F 7 am - 2:30 pm); $21.99 (child 5-12, $12.99 to 11 am, $13.99 after 11 am). Value = $4.89 / K.
    9,000 LP - Mandalay Bay, Bayside 2-for-1 dinner buffet (4:30 - 9:45 pm) ; $32.99. Value = $3.67 / K.

    10,500 LP - 2-for-1 dinner buffet (4-9:30 pm); $29.99, $36.99 on Fri/Sat ($19.99 child). Value up to = $3.52 / K.

  • As per your analysis, intuitively I had decided the best value is show tickets, and then rooms, depending on the cost. Since with rooms, you still have to pay the resort fee, using points for a low value room like Circus Circus, doesn't really save you much money because the resort fee is almost as much as the room cost.

However, using my LP for 4 nights Monte Carlo Fri-Tues where a regular room will be $174 on Fri and $194 on Sat does have value. (Total cost would be $506 + $22.40 daily resort fee).

The max value is the show tickets b/c there is no additional fee on top.

The reason for the heavy penalty for two tickets or two buffets on one redeem is because of the restriction on 3 rewards pp per 30 day period. Yes you can maximize your points by only redeeming a one ticket reward but then you would need to go back after 30 days to redeem more rewards. Maybe that is win/win/ ;)

So for my next trip, between my wife and I, we redeemed 5 rewards for 5 nights (one night Aria), and the last reward will go towards the two tickets/one redeem for the Zarkana show. (Currently at 196,000 LP, so almost there).
  • My beef with the app is that you have to redeem within 90 days of buying the reward but then you can only buy 3 rewards per 30 day period. So if I want to book a trip to vegas semi-last minute, I'll be limited to 3 and not able to get much use of my 700k lp unless I spend them all on the really expensive rewards which are high point/dollar value ratio.
  • No, you can only USE 3 rewards per 30 day period. You can buy as many rewards as you like, only limited by the number of LPs you have.

After buying the reward, you have 90 days to redeem the reward but the for show tickets and rooms, the day you book the reward can be anytime in the booking window listed with the reward. eg. I bought my room rewards on May 5, redeemed them right away and booked for Sept, more than 90 days away. Buffet rewards and other things have to be exchanged at the Mlife service desk on the day you use them, so those have to be purchased within the 90 day window.

blondefish, I worked out my $/k on my free rooms, and it came to $1.95/k
  • Oh... that's even worse. I thought I'd be able to use up to 9 rewards on a quick trip to vegas if I booked them 30 days apart within 90 days. My wife doesn't play so it looks like I'm limited to just the 3. Bummer :(
  • That's what I was hoping for, too. Since the lower LP 2-for-1 rewards counter-intuitively have the best value, I was hoping to redeem a few 2-for-1 rewards more than 30 days early, then redeem the rest when we're there on July 2-10.

The GTO ;) use of MyVegas seems to be for a couple (or pairs of forumers) to spend just enough time before a Vegas trip to get up to six 2-for-1 rewards, e.g., forum trips such as moose's. In Tonychanman's case, you & your wife can set up a second account so she can redeem three more 2-for-1 rewards that you both like.

Now that I finally made sense of MyVegas, it's time to work on a Nash Equilibria solution for NLHE with sn1perb0y, ReefAquarium, etc... ;)

  • Wow, I didn't think the free rooms would have as low a value ($/K) as almost all of the other rewards. I found a comprehensive list of MyVegas rewards and their low values (per 1,000 LP). After we redeem our six rewards next month, I'll stop playing MyVegas and play more online poker instead (until just before my next Las Vegas trip).

  • Coles Notes: I'll be multi-tabling at online poker instead of spinning at myVEGAS.

I gave myVEGAS my best shot, but in my case, playing online poker is much better. We each used only the free all-day buffet reward on our first day in Las Vegas, then never had any need for any of the other four rewards. The 2-for-1 show ticket reward is one of the few myVEGAS rewards that is worth more than $4 / 1,000 LP, but we got a 4-for-1 show offer when we arrived in Las Vegas so we used that instead. I have requested a refund for all our unused rewards.

I'll be going back to Las Vegas between this September to July 2015, so I was looking if there is anything worth spinning myVEGAS in the washroom until then, but could not find anything. The eight free nights I won at Aria were fantastic, but myVEGAS has removed the free night at Aria, etc. 250,000 LP is required for a VIP table with bottle service at an Aria Lounge, but that is basically what actyper, T8urmoney and I received TWICE A DAY at The Deuce Lounge from 11 am - 12:30 pm and 6 - 8 pm. We watched the UFC pay-per-view and World Cup semi-finals from there, while eating gourmet food and drinking Grey Goose vodka, all for free.
  • Anyone else noticed that they added Royal Caribbean International as a partner? They have onboard credits for sale as well as big discounts on cruises. They sold out very fast but I'm sure there will be more for sale again soon.
  • Does anybody know the actual values of these cruise discounts, e.g., > $2 / 1,000 LP? I don't want to go back to playing myVEGAS unless there are good value rewards that are worth all that distraction.

  • They have a few rewards which are discounts on future cruises. They have

Onboard credit, 100k per $100 which you can get in $100, $200 and $300
$50 in freeplay at their casino for 100k
Ultimate beverage package for $225k, retails $65/day
As well as 10% off cruise fare for two per 100k up to 50%
  • They have added Red Rock, Green Valley Ranch and Palace Station, and in this group you can redeem two per person per day.
  • Started playing slots and Blackjack. Any tips/tricks or hacks?
  • If you are on facebook you need to play regularly until you have all your casinos built. After that I log in once per day and just collect my chips until I have at least one million. Then I start playing the puzzle bonus games. You can easily blow 1 million trying to complete some of the tougher puzzle that have decent rewards.
  • Lotus Land is my new favorite game. The ROI isn't as good as some of the other games I think, but it has the least amount of clicking required. You can do 500 auto spins and just let it work in the background without needing to click to collect bonuses. It will run the full 500 spins without needing to check it except for level up bonus.
  • thanks.
  • That lotus land game has been gold for me. Went away this afternoon at about 2.4m red chips and came back to find 4m+ after 500 spins @1500 per spin. Should easily clear the shaq puzzle tomorrow.
  • Good old Lotus Land... So nice to be able to go through an entire 500 spins without having to check on the game. I've lucked out recently on mobile and FB games and have racked up several 100k in the last few weeks. Almost at 2M loyalty points and will probably get it by the end of the month. Of course, as I approach it I see that the two 2M rewards of a trip for 2 to Vegas or Florida are gone.
  • Unfortunately, except for show tickets or free buffets, the rollbacks of the benefits has made this program mostly useless. You can only book one free night per trip now and and to get a free buffet you have to be staying in a MGM property.
  • Oh really? I did not know about the buffet only being good if you stay at an mgm property. That is pretty shitty and yes I agree it is becoming a useless type of app now!
  • Indeed, the only reason I kept playing was to get to the 2M mark for the vacation for two and now that I'm almost there it's gone. It did disappear once before and came back so I'm hoping it will make a reappearance again.

All of the comp stuff is mostly gone, no more free tickets without buying one and buffets as well.
