If they had all made me feel like a complete rookie, berating me for making mistakes, playing too loose or too tight, laughing at my inexperience — if the staff had gotten frustrated and made me feel stupid for maybe playing slow, or being confused by the action, or asking too many questions — then the reverse probably happens.

How is your customer service at your tables?
Satellites are only for the Main Event - most of the other events are low enough buy-in that sats don't really make sense.
We'll have all structures and rules up on the site sometime next week (trying for Tuesday) but if you're looked at a rules/structure sheet for any of our events in the past you'll find little difference for similar tournaments.
Obviously we're thrilled to be partnering with PokerStars for this series. It should be a good one!
Yes posting them on Monday or as soon as I get reservation links. From your perspective they'll be different hotels - the Sheraton ($179) and the Marriott Residence Inn Montreal Westmount ($115). The Holiday Inn we used to partner with is now a McGill U residence LOL.

The Marriott isn't as luxe as the Sheraton but I'm some of the the rooms have little kitchenettes, which can make it more economical.

The Tournament Hall has been fully re-branded - PokerStars everywhere, Canada Cup everywhere - and it looks amazing. The tables will all be re-felted in the next week or so and we'll post pics.
And with a month left to go, about 100 satellite seats have been awarded both online and live, which will add some extra value to the event (mmm satellite winners!). Going a little bit out on a limb, I expect at least another 100 or so before the event gets under way.
Is anybody else carpooling to the Mega Overlay Satellite this weekend? Here are our plans:
- WPT CSC roommate drives to Playground on Thursday to play up to three $135+$20 Day 1s.
- I'm taking my kid to Canada's Wonderland new Guardian ride on Friday night, then my WPT FPC roommate from Kitchener will pick me up for the Saturday noon overlay satellite.
- The three of us won't play the $50+$15 7:30 pm tournament with 23% rake, but anybody out of the overlay satellites will keep playing the improved SNG satellites :cool2: (used to be even more turbo than WPT Fallsview) during the weekend.
- On Sunday, after hopefully winning one or more $3,300 seat, we may also play the 8 pm $200+$25 satellite (11% rake) with 2 seats guaranteed.
I'm in Brossard now but my supposed roommate somehow decided to PREPAY for a room yesterday with only one bed for the entire weekend :-( instead of choosing another hotel with two beds. I don't roll like pkrfce9 with Vaseline so I'll have to look for my own room tonight. In case anybody I know is at Playground this weekend & wants to share a two-bed room, email or PM me.

i totally wrote this off as i would not be able to take time off of work for poker. however, i didn't realize that monday is the holiday. therefore, i would be able to play the 3 day event #1 if i wanted to.
damn it! i might be making a last minute trip to montreal now...
btw, i just realized that on playground's website they have a live update of cash game tables that are currently running and waiting list numbers! that is friggin' awesome.

He outlasted a field of 1,439 total re-entries and won over $36,000 from a $155 buy-in, along with a PokerStars Canada Cup trophy. He plays regularly at Brantford, and drove to Playground with forumer JordanGM and another casino reg.

Dave played great - he was short stack for a lot of the tournament and played that role well and them when it got short handed he was much better able to adapt.
Thanks to Playground for my for implementing my suggestion of improving the SNG structures. My WPT CSC roommate just iMessaged me that he won a SNG for the $3,300 entry.

Yet again we're getting close to overlay territory though - 123 entries so far today to add to the 129 yesterday, which means Saturday would have to pass 415 entries on Saturday's Day 1c to hit the guarantee... It's one thing to do that in a $1K buy-in, a whole other thing in a $3K buy-in...

Hmm it's hard to say. It turns out just under 20 more players came out yesterday after I posted, so the total is 290. So there's still a long road - but a countervailing factor is that satellite winner behaviour has "normalized" in the past year and probably over 60% of total sat (and others like raffle tickets etc) winners have yet to play - there are still around 150+ of these unplayed.
So it's not like we're looking for 400 walk-ups, it's a lot smaller number than that, and I think it's do-able. I guess we'll see in a few hours!

That said this gtd wasn't really aiming for over the fence when you consider the WPT 3k+ were all 3 millionish. Pretty modest mark.
