How Do You Play This?

Your sitting at a 6 player max tourney.

Top 2 get paid.  4 players remain.

Your 2nd in chips

Chip leader, Short Stack & Yourself are in the hand

Your pretty much guarenteed to come in the money.....but do you risk it?

Preflop: Short stack raises, Chip leader re-raises' 3 times the minimum, you have AQ suited

What do you do?

a) Call
b) Re-raise
c) Fold

AQ folds, short stack folds...chip leader wins the hand

  • Not nearly enough info to give an answer...short handed u need to have reads on the players based on recent actions
  • regardless of reads, if your guarenteed money do u risk it?
  • its 4 handed and youre second in chips...youre far from guaranteed to make the money (unless youre leaving out more details like the other 2 have 1 chip or something stupid like that)

without stack sizes OP is very hard to answer
  • Well the thing is, I find myself playing passive at times when I'm not right on my game...3 or 4 players left you still aren't guaranteed anything. Assuming the blinds are decently sized at this point, one or two lucky doubles by a short stack and you are 3rd. Take the edges where you can and position yourself for 1st. If you get unlucky and don't money, it's just one game. But if you take your edges every time then you will win more $$ overall.

So, if you think you are ahead then push.
