Any word of NL in Brantford?

Well, anyone know anything about it?

  • I think I would cry if Brantford got NL. LLNL poker is the bane of mid limit B&M poker. Of course televised NL poker is the reason why cardrooms are packed with donators. So I guess I can't really bitch that much... :)
  • I would hate to see Brantford change too no-limit.

Scooby I once played at a $5-$10 table with you. Have you graduated to $10 $20 yet?
  • I thought there was some sort of restriction preventing any of the charity casinos from introducing NL. Can anyone confirm that?
  • Word on street is that Brantford will no longer be classified as a charity casino.
  • I'm not sure that is the case.

I live in Sarnia, and the paper yesterday stated that Point Edward is changing all their signage so draw away from the fact that it is a charity casino, but not actually changiong the way the money is distributed.

So their is a very big sign now, which just reads OLG casino, and then near the door very small signs indicating it is a charity casino. Perhaps Brantford is going the same route.

I have heard nothing about anything of them getting no limit games.

    Cheers
  • My overall 2 cents is that there is simply no good business reason to offer NL hold'em cash games at Brantford. Brantford's limit hold'em games are in enormous demand nearly 24/7 with all tables running and long waiting lists. Last time I was in old Niagara (which mostly offers low-limit NL) on a weekday evening, more than half of their poker tables were closed.

I can't confirm or deny this, but my guess is that they might have problems getting around the $100 maximum bet rule (I'm not even sure that rule still exists) at charity casinos.

Brantford now has similar signage, and was changed fairly recently. I don't know if this has anything to do with trying to downplay the charity nature of the casino or not.

  • Jesus lets hope this is not going to happen, soon all anyone will be able to play in Ontario is 1 2 NL

Yes, although I've only managed to play a couple sessions.

So (hypothetically) if someone 3 bets the river in a 20-40 game, I assume they just view this as 3 $40 dollar bets rather than a $120 dollar bet? I don't know the history of the rule (or if it still exists) either, so...

Doesnt help their business. Doesnt it make you even a little excited that there may be NL games at BCC?
By way I mean less than 0% chance and even if they do im sure they will be almost all low roller ones (too bad).

Give the public what they want! Spread bigger NL games and encourage everyone to take a shot! Could be fun for a while. Till I went broke it would be a blast!

You are right though. In the interest of feeding the rake NL should not be spread.

Not really. I suck at NL. :)
