Who is this player?
"Without mentioning any names, I'm currently aware of a Las Vegas player who has done spectacularly well for over a year. In my estimation he plays close to 50 percent of his hands, and makes wild play after wild play. At times he appears like a genius with his uncanny tricky strategies where it is very difficult to put him on any sort of hand. Others have tried to explain his success to me by pointing out that he is "psychologically strong." The truth is that when you are exceptionally lucky, it is easy to be psychologically strong."
I recently read this article, written by Mason Malmuth, regarding a pro player. I was wondering if anyone knows to whom he is referring?
My guess is Gus Hansen. I have heard many rumours about his financial difficulties. And it seems that this blurb would correlate with Hansen, for the following reasons:
1. New to the poker scene;
2. Very quickly entered high stakes game;
3. Plays what many consider to be wild poker;
4. Is regarded as playing wild poker (pre-flop) well because of his ability to play post-flop
5. Gus Hansen, has reportedly lost a ton in cash games.
I have wondered about this players for awhile - generally when I ask I get all the LAGs refuting any allegations against their God.
Any other opinions of whom this could be?
