Close the Off Topic Lounge for awhile?

Just an idea I had. It might get rid of the spammers.

I know, they'll just spread the spam in another section.

Does anyone else have any other ideas?

    Closing a part of the forum won't do anything to deter spammers. I dunno if the moderators who are deleting the spam are just deleting the threads and the user accounts... but they should be banning the IPs use to post the spam from as well.

    The Off Topic Lounge is the only part of the forum I read. Please don't close it.

    The fact that we have suddenly been hit by porn sites just means that we have offically arrived.

    Threads are not deleted nor are the user accounts deleted. The thread is moved to a place called "thread jail", and the user accounts, as well as IP is banned.
