Short Stacked - All in

Hi Guys,

I wanted to get your opinion on this hand. If you saw my earlier post this is from the 55K gauranteed tourney. The blilnds are coming for me soon and I am short stack with 100K with blinds 8000/16000

Is my move to soon because of my bad position with these cards. I was trying to avoid losing small blilnd and big blind next 2 hands and be severly short and these were the best cards I had seen in a while.

Thanks

  • It's a good enough hand to push, but expect a caller. You're stack has dropped to the point that anyone who wants to call is gettings pretty good odds.
  • You probably aren't going to see a better hand than that. I probably would have just pushed from the get go. It's not like you're going to fold to a re-raise anyway.
  • I'd say it was one of those fold to try and out last some of the other short stacks (noticed three at around 100k aswell) or if you wanna try and do well, i.e coming first, raise/push. AJsuited is quite a good hand at this stage. I hope you didn't go up against AQ, AK.
  • I would have pushed rather than the raise you did. You committed yourself but maybe one of the others thought they could push you off the hand.

Your stack is large enough to do a lot of damage to almost everyone at the table. Even the bigger stacks would be hesitant to call without a very good hand. The way you played it, a big stack could call with a speculative hand hoping to improve on the flop.
  • I would have pushed, for sure. once you're all in, position means nothing, so that's not important anymore.
  • Well guys thanks for the thoughts on this hand. I wont keep you in suspense but I ran into :jd :jh My hand didnt improve so that was that. The guy that took me out went on to win over 3 Grand in the tourney I think. Anyway thanks again
