SNG's at DrTyore's - Friday August 18

Well, didn't take this friday, so FRIDAY AUGUST 18th I'm going to host a BBQ / DRINKING / Poker game...

Limits: Lower costs $5 - $10

Format: NLHE, and then whatever we want after that.

NOTE: I'm going to invite a couple of friends who are very new to the game, so be gentle... I'll be instructing them how to play beforehand, and they will be playing their first game!!

Time: Anytime after 4:00 come on over, games probably start at 7:30

I am just curious about the posts I see announcing a night of sit and go'S.  I'm wondering if you use a very aggressive blind schedule, or short blinds, to get several in in a night? Or do you just play late into the night?  I haven't been able to make any of these games yet anyway, but if I'm able to in the future, just wondering what to expect.  Thanks for any info.

Well sstar....

I think it's a "balanced" setup..... I usually start them with 3k in chips, 15 minute blinds starting at 25/25 - 25/50 - 50/100 - 75/100 - 100/200 etc... We'll play well into the morning, and with enough people, we'll hopefully have side games going as well as people bust out... it's not Bristol street, but I can get drunk and not worry about driving home.

I think overall, it's the best compromise between play per game, and games played.

I very well may show up later for the second game...got an early morning planned Saturday with the kids so it might just be crack a cold one, play guitar hero until game starts, crack another, check,-fold my way to the bubble, crack one more and hit the road

Actually, the blinds arent that aggressive. But because I end up knockin so many people out quickly the games end quickly.

AHHHH, so that's the trick.  If I want multiple games in an evening, I have to invite Tyson.  Ha Ha.
