b. greenstien's home page not loading

When I go to Barry Greenstein's home page www.barrygreenstein.com I asks me to download an activex control and I allow it to do so. Then explorer blows up. This used to be a way of hacking systems in the old days -- could I have the site wrong or do I need some sort of setting in my explorer.

Any help would be appreciated.

  • Worked for me (in Firefox). It did load a song, which I hate when pages do that.

Title: Con Te Partirò (I'll Go With You)
    Bellagio theme song
    Artist: Andrea Bocelli
    Year: 1995

It loaded it with quicktime - do you have the QT plugin installed for IE? The other thing is just choose not to do the activex and see if you get the site without the music.

    Good luck!
  • Worked fine for me using Interent Explorer. I suspect some sort of malware or spyware if IE gets an error and closes. Do you get the same thing after shutting down and restarting?  For detecting and removing spyware I suggest Ad-Aware Personal Edition.   Jeff..

  • Thanks guys -- it puts me at ease a bit to realize it's just a song and not some elaborate way to get my passwords.

I'm the paranoid type and have multiple levels of security -- It sounds like it got caught somewhere in the shuffle. I have QT loaded.

Most likely I will not visit until Barry fixes it on his side -- I should be able to bypass the damn song!
