Piece of the Action
I am curious about the rukes (or implications) behind taking a piece of someone's action.
Let's say I agree to pay for Felipe to be in the Main Event. I put up the $10 000. And I get 45% of the winnings. I also enter myself on my own dime.
In the end we both make it to the final table. Would the tournament orgainizers need to know this? What if we both ended up heads up? What are the implications?

Hmm. Well I guess even if they did tell the organisers there's not much they could do about it. They couldnt stop them from playing the final table... Plus i'm sure both players would want to win the main event.
Endorsements, books, paid appreances, etc, all add up, and I'm sure the winner would never have to look for work again, regardless of the prize money he ended up giving himself or giving away.
I would assume that both players would play to win the event, regardless of any deals done, simply for the potential and notoriety.
And if anyone wants to sponsor MY buyin to the main event, I'm soliciting myself NOW!!! Up to 100% of the prize.
Seriously tho A lot of pro's often take action on each other. They all enter the tourney and get 5% (for example) of each other. That way if one of them goes on to win they all get something. It's just not something that tends to get announced.
