GOOD LUCK!!!!

Just wanted to pop a thread to say GOOD LUCK to Actyper, SirWatts and Dave Scharf! :D

Sadly I won't be carpooling with anyone and I trully wish I could be there with you all. For the first timers, enjoy EVERY second of the tournament and don't worry about busting out -- there will be 7600 players which bust out as well. Do your best and try and learn from the best. They will all be there and they won't allways be the players who you know.

I remember my first few hours playing and had a difficult hand -- JJ from early position. I spotted one player who was the best at the table -- didn't know him at the time, but it was Al Krux (final table that year). I pegged another player as weak tight and he bet out. Al usually took a few seconds to think when it was his turn. In this hand, Al's cards hit the much faster than speedy gonzales. I took Al's cue and mucked my JJ without a doubt. Mr. weak tight flashed his QQ and there was a Q on the board. Nice.

Enjoy knowing myself and and this forum are cheering you on.

Cheers
Magi

  • Good luck guys.

I will be reading your blog with anticipation, Mike.
  • Okay okay.. lazy and dense

  • Also, don't ignore the booze nights. I've heard far too many first vegas stories about AA being cracked to 72o at bellagio, and not enough "man one night I dropped all my tournament winnings at the ripper and grey goose till 8am"

Play your poker, win the tournament, but once you have some free time don't just be a poker gnome, enjoy everything!

Wait a minute....are you trying to tell us there's more to Vegas than just POKER?

    Wow, who'd have guessed. :D
