Waterloo, ON - With a scant twenty-four hours left before the doors open on the inaugural "Pokerforum.ca Celebrity Challenge", there is a buzz in the air rivaled, perhaps, by the 2004 World Series of Poker.
"It's simply amazing," claims propriotor Zithal, "the press will be out in full force, all one of them, for event coverage and the celebrities this event will draw out will be impressive to say the least. My cat's really excited. Oh yeah, and some old widow who lives across the street was yelling at me that I need to cut my grass more... but I could tell she was really just trying to get a glimpse of the action. I mean, who wouldn't want to?"
Established in 1769, the Bristol Street Nightclub and Casino has been a hotbed of activty for the gambling elite. When asked about the historical significance of the site in a interview held last week with Canadian legend Daniel Negreanu, Daniel reponded, "Huh?" And then, "Who the f*ck would want to go to Waterloo to play poker?? Stopping poking me with your pen."
Several celebrites from the forum board will be on hand to take part in the main event, included all_aces, the next Canadian player to be featured on the cover of Canadian Poker Player magazine. When asked about how he felt about being the odds on favorite to win the tournament, he hit me and screamed, "YOU F*CKING TAKE THAT BACK!! I WILL NOT WIN!! I'LL F*CKING LOSE THIS WHOLE F*CKING THING, G*DDAMM*T!!!!" He then proceed to repeatedly perform jumping jacks while listening, at full volume, to "Eye of Tiger" until he collapsed in a heap. Actually, he was listening to Wierd Al Yankovics pardy "Rye or the Keiser", but the music's the same and this reporter didn't have the heart to point that out.
All_aces' girlfriend, who had been watching the whole scene sighed and responded, "I'm still gonna beat him. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go get the medication."
Site propritor "Sloth", also a featured player on the cover of Canadian Poker Player Magazine will be on hand. When asked about his thoughts he responded, "That assh*le won't let me paint the pokerstore.ca OR pokerforum.ca logo on his house. Dick. I'll show him. First, I'll win all the money.... then I'll pee on his cat... THEN... I'll win all the money. Oh, yeah."
Regardless of the outcome of this tournament, only one thing is for certain. There were no weapons of mass desctruction in Iraq.
