James Bond was Canadian

Saw this amazing biography on Sir Ian Flemming (creator of James Bond) and it stated that the "James Bond" character was based entirely on a Canadian service agent and his lifestlye...right down to the martinis..apparently not only did he have a thing for martinis, but he would drink a litre of one at a time. They (the 'agent' and Ian Flemming) ended up being neighbours in the Bahamas...Ian Flemming named his estate 'Goldeneye' in the sixties.

  • Martinis, eh? Hmmm.... would the agent's name be Dave Scharf, by any chance?
