LOOKING TO INCREASE KNOWLEDGE...

I hear more experienced players talking about things like a players ability to extract more value from a hand and a players hand selection and hand value.

What else would an experience player be watching for or taking notes of while sitting in a game?

What books would most informative regarding this area of play?

I know how the card aspect of hold'em works but really need to increase my table awareness and ability to blend
into a table. How should I monitor others and be sure I am not predictable?

Thanks for the input, Perry D.

  • Sklansky would probably be your first choice. He has a few great books, alot of your math questions will be answered in them, or at least give you a general understand of why you should raise for value vs calling/checking.

For tournament play, Harrington will be recommended over and over and over and over again.

Become active in this forum, read all the hand histories that get posted, and then read the responses. There are golden nuggets of information hidden in them, if you know what to look for.
