He said, "YOU SUCK"

Well, I'll back up a bit.

Cards were delt, everyone checked up and the board showed JXX. Chest beating began with a raise from, oh lets call him "A", "C" called the bet then "D" not only called the bet but raised again. I liked my 2 cards. I saw the 2 bets and raised 20 (we're talking some hefty skittle points here).

Fold, fold, "A" ponders then folds. "A" likes to raise ... I wanted to stop "A" from raising ;) . "C" folds. "D" calls my 20 and raises me 20. "D" is feeling pretty good right now. I see "D"'s 20 and raise 40 (do you KNOW how many skittles we're talking about here ???).

"D" ponders and says "oh ok" and pushes in his remaining 26 skittle points. Oops ... didn't notice he only had that much left. As I said, board shows JXX. I turn over JJ. "D" proclaims, "YOU SUCK" and turns over JX.

The turn and river were no help to my fine skittle poker playing friend. Today was a good day. hehe

(what can I say ... there was a demand for more posts, I thought I would share what happened at skittle poker today)

Cheers

  • Good story :D And yep, we need more posts. I'm playing in a sng right now, the blinds are 100-200 and the only decent hands I've seen are JJ and A10. I had to fold my AT because UTG raised 3X the BB and there was one caller. This has been a really cold run of cards but I still have 775 chips left....

EDIT: I just got QQ, had the blinds and two callers in the pot, pushed all-in and someone behind me called, everyone else folded. I was up against AK but a Q hit the flop. He got a K on the turn but no help on the river. I doubled up.

Edit: Just got AK and doubled up off someone with A10. I'm the chip leader. Patience is paying off again!

Edit: I know nobody cares, but I thought I should finish my story anwyays... First place! Along the way my AK lost to a flush (KQ suited) and cut me in half, but I battled back. Have a good day people!

    looks like fun.
  • I can assure you, you don't want to "taste the rainbow" by snacking on the skittles at our table. They've been, well, kind of used. We have a running joke that if someone that we don't really like comes into our area we'll put out a bowl of skittles they can munch.

It's fun for a work day lunch break thing. You come to the table with 100 skittle points. Skittle color/points are:

    green 1
    purple 2
    yellow 3
    orange 4
    red 5

Blinds are 2/4. If you bust out then you're done for the day. Lots of fun to get together and practice during lunch (both the card playing and smack talk).
  • And you think I'd learn that when the board shows KK66, that if you have a six in your hand, there is a 99% probability that at least one other player has a K in theirs.

It was a sad day for me. (It's been a sad few weeks as I haven't shown a winning SkittlePoker session in a while)

You'd also thing that if there were 2 players, both with a King that one wouldn't fold when the other bets, then exclaim, "See, you had the better kicker!" :D
  • What can I say ... I haven't gotten to that chapter yet !!!

err I mean, ya, that does sound noobish. Can't imagine ANYONE making that kind of mistake. (turns out I ended up with 297 points today ... I can forgive myself for that last gaff)

    grrrrr
  • I am surprised Blondefish hasn't calibrated the skill level on this skittlepoker tourny yet.

    Sounds like a blast though.
