i want you guys to read carefully. i was playing a super tight game, seeing only 8 out of 58 flops by this point.

i'm in mid to late position and i see A8s and make a regular sized raise.

Now, i'm not making a bad beat post, i just really wanted you guys to have a laugh.

compare his hand (J9 :ad) to the flop and then ask yourself what the FUCK he was thinking with his move, and when i go AI over his raise, how does he even make the call with odds??

Johnny

Comments

  • Here is what the fish was thinking: this guy is weak, i'm going to min reraise. Hmm, he went over the top, maybe he has a straight draw, or he hit the 6. Only a little bit more to call, I can still hit my J or 9
  • That's brutal, buddy. Maybe he misread his hand, or the board?

It's good to see that donks will play $10 tournaments, not just $3! :D

Just remember his name and register for every game he's in!

  • Happens to me all the time on stars. I can post lots that are just as brutal. The number of times I've watched runner runner straight or flushes come is sick. I sit and shake my head too but try to think those are the guys who make me money (or are supposed to).
  • There goes 20 seconds of my life I'll never get back. Thanks.

No one cares about your beats, learn to tell them to your stuffed animal collections and leave us alone.

Maybe the raise on the flop wasn't the best move in the world but at the point you go AI, his call wasn't a bad one at all. There was $5820 in the pot and it was $570 to call. He's getting better than 10 to 1 on his money. Factoring in the possibility of a backdoor straight and/or flush he's getting right around the correct odds to call, even if he puts you on an 8.

I agree with this one. We've all been there.

    Hmmmm...

I know there's something I'm missing here, but damned if I just can't put my finger on it.

The fact that saying "this isn't a bad beat post" doesn't automatically make it not a bad beat post, especially if a bad beat (albeit a mild one) is in it.

Tough hand John, and I don't know why he would make this play, but it happens often enough that I think they teach it in "Donk 101".
  • BBC, your post made me laugh almost as much as this hand did.

Your response makes me (and i'm sure others), want to post more beats just to get on your very, VERY short nerves!

and just to RE-clarify, i wasnt posting this hand to complain, it was only a ten bucker. I was just trying to get some of my friends on here like Stp, zithal, DrTyore, etc... to share in a laugh at some complete idiots terrible move.

Anyways BBC, if i tell my beats to my stuffed animal collection, they wont have snappy comments like you do to fire back.

    Johnny
  • Johnny, I laughed. This would be the type of move I would pull against you, remember when I called your all in bluff with J7 off suit or something like that and I was ahead after the flop. Yeah, that was cool. This hand really reminded me of those days....thanks for sharing it buddy.

  • Johnny obviously our friend here fell asleep reading his favourite book - Poker for Dummies and when he woke up after drooling all over the cover, he had the impression that a double gutshot was the same thing as a double belly buster.

Doesn't everyone call a big raise with small soooooooted connectors..... :D
  • You do when you know you win a $100 pot for the initial $2 investment :)

The irony of this hand is put the fine Dr. on 78s - makes all the same calls - I been witness to this before:)

    Luv ya Mark :D
