sunglasses eh?

I was thinking about picking up some sunglasses for some poker... but i'm not too sure which type of lense would be the best... there are the really reflective ones, which are quite intimidating however your opponent can see your cards through the reflection (or at least they may be able to see your cards) and then there is the black darker ones that reflect less... which lense do you think would serve a better purpose for poker? the more intimidating one or the one that just looks plain and black??

any other suggestions for sunglass lenses??

thanks!

  • Get the ones like Ralph used to wear on Happy Days.
You'll fit right in at your 5.00 online SNG.
  • I think what Wolffy meant to say is

"Nobody can tellt hat much from your eyes - glasses are unnecessary and make you look like a dork that read Moneymaker's book".

If you want to avoid tells, work on your betting patterns, and try to be either

A: Exceedingly unifrom in your actions / movements

    or

B: Exceedingly erratic - we're talking major neurological injury kinda jerky movements.

Ahhh - I had always just figured you were dropped on your head as a child.
  • I LOVE to see someone sit down at 2/5 Limit at Brantford wearing a $200 pair of Oakeys.

And then get $50 worth of chips! Sweet.

Seriously, wearing shades at the table isn't cool anymore. Try a cool hat, scrafm or take off your pants before you make a BIG raise.

  • If you're going to wear sunglasses, wear something like this.

Everyone will think you're an ass, likely prone to bluffing, and will call a lot of your bets and raises.

Jac Arama a European player wears these sunglasses from time to time.

Remind me to never play with Jac Arama. That kind of thing is tilting.

  • Was that AJ moaning about his queens getting cracked again?
  • Not anymore!! They've been holding up for me lately.
    :D
  • My eyesight has gotten so bad I have to take off my glasses to read my cards, then put them on to see the flop.  Now why did I take up poker?  sunglasses might help this but maybe not...... I think I need the prescription welding shield with the flip up visor.

Do they make a bifocal welding shield? Any welders out there know?
  • No they don't Jeff, but you'd be wearing your bifocals under the shield I guess. I haven't gone the bi focal route yet so I just put them off and on.
