Canadian Poker Player Magazine
I received the Jan and Feb copies two nights ago, thank you very much dave!
I have read both of them cover to cover and I am very impressed. I have learned from both of them and I am sure that I will still learn more after a re-read.
But I have one big problem.
After reading these two mags I see how big poker is out in western Canada and how many opportunities there are to play in real life tournaments. I live just outside of Toronto and there is nothing going on around here! The Casino in Niagara Falls does not even have a card room! What up with that?
Sure I can drive an hour plus to Rama, Port Perry or Brantford but it just doesn't seem right.
Perhaps I am missing something here and I am just ignorant, since after all it was only a few months ago that I learned what "Texas hold'em" was.
Please tell this newbie that he is wrong..

In 1998 Ontario was poised to open 23 charity casinos, every one of which was going to include poker. In the end the anti-gaming lobby won and the casinos (licenses had been granted and everything) fell by the wayside.
It is growing everywhere though. Management in several Ontario locations has told me they are planning to both expand their poker rooms and add more tournament action.
It's coming. Be ready... the games are soft when they first start.
I'll keep on training in the mean time!
