3 more Canadians headed to the WSOP!
Congratulations to Victor D., Mark M. and Graeme H., who are all headed to the WSOP. Victor of Oakville won a U$10,000 seat to the Main Event and an expense-paid trip to Las Vegas by winning the Pirana Poker Tour Grand Championship last weekend. Around 80 players qualified for the championship tournament, including players from as far as BC, London, Kingston, Cobourg, Ajax and over ten players from Kitchener-Waterloo. Virtually everybody in the final table were from west of Toronto, including three players from Kitchener-Waterloo.
Mark, also of Oakville, won a U$1,000 buy-in to a WSOP event and expense-paid trip to Las Vegas by winning the Pirana "Full House Frenzy" tournament. Around 160 players qualified.
Graeme of BC also won a WSOP buy-in and trip to Las Vegas by winning the Pirana British Columbia Grand Championship.
For the new season that started this month, I heard that there may be a total of four championship events with four grand prizes to the WPT tournaments at Niagara Fallsview Casino in October. There may be at least 40 additional prizes awarded that includes a free buy-in to the WPT satellites.
