Six days to go!!

Just a friendly reminder that there are only six days left before the pokerforum.ca Celebrity challenge.

If you haven't see it yet, the directions to my place are posted in the main thread (with the rule that you can only post once per minute, I was dreaded waisting 30+ minutes to email everyone seperately.

Also, as an FYI, I will be slightly altering the blind schedule for the main tournament. We used this schedule at my Bounty Hunter tournament and concensus was that the blinds raised very slowly in the first 1.5 hours, then shot up too fast in the middle hour creating a small crap shoot problem. (The area I speak of, is the raise from 25-50 to 50-100 to 100-200) The schedule we used created a four hour tournament, so I'm not adverse to adding a few more levels. I'll post what I'm thinking of, in resposne to this message and see what people think.

The nametag idea is a great one! If someone would like to volunteer to bring some that would be wonderful. If no one can do it, I'll stop by the dollar store to see what I can find.

Other than that, everything's a go for this weekend and I'll see everyone this Saturday!

Option 1 smooths the curve at the bottom, and raises quickly near the end.

Option 2 has, overall a more gradual climb, and is currently my favorite, (I'm guessing it also add 30 minutes over the original

The last one shouldn't even be there as it's not much different from 2, just with a higher end game.

    *'s indicate where colour-up's occur.

  • I'm really looking forward to it!
  • OK. I've tried posting table like things here with no effect, so I'm just going to post my favorite option and go with it... (The number is brackets is the original level) and the running time of the tournamnet

    5-10 (5-10) : 0:20 (0:20)
    10-20 (10-20) : 0:40 (0:40)
    15-30 (15-30) : 1:00 (1:00)
    25-50 (20-40) : 1:20 (1:20)
    35-70 (break) : 1:40 (1:35)
    break (25-50) : 1:55 (1:55)
    50-100 (50-100) : 2:15 (2:15)
    75-150 (100-200) : 2:35 (2:35)
    100-200 (150-300) : 2:55 (2:55)
    150-300 (break) : 3:15 (3:10)
    break (200-400) : 3:30 (3:30)
    200-400 (300-600) : 3:50 (3:50)
    300-600 (400-800) : 4:10 (4:10)
    400-800 (500-1000) : 4:30 (4:30)
    break (600-1200) : 4:45 (4:50)
    500-1000 (800-1600) : 5:05 (5:10)
    1000-1500 (break) : 5:25 (5:25)
    1000-2000 (1000-2000) : 5:45 (5:45)

According to this, the end should come around the 5.5 hour mark, and so I was thinking off adding in a 20-40 level with a 10 minute break (non chip colour up) in the first hour. This will raise the expected finish to almost 6 hours (or midnight), which then gives us time to pack up and go for wings. :)

    thoughts?
  • I vote you all move to BC so I could attend one of these. That'd be more convenient than me moving out there :P
  • where in BC are you Josh?
  • about an hour outside of vancouver, town called Chilliwack.
