Any info would be appreciated.

  • There will certainly be Super-Sats the few days prior to the Preliminary tournies, and a few more Supers between the last Prelim and the start of the main event.
They better be running some Sunday satellites starting very soon, if they haven't started them up already.
If they don't, they are amateur and won't be getting the WPT to come back.
Hope to see you all there for the big one.
  • What is the buy-in for the main event?? How can you reserve a seat for the main event??
  • The main event, as disclosed to date is stated to be $10 000.00 CAD. There has been no details yet of sat.'s or main event registrations.

I emailed PokerStars and asked them if they would consider running sat.'s. The response I received was that any WPT events they hold sat.'s to are based on interest. So I would think that it would be a good idea for anyone interested in a WPT sat. through Stars to email support and let them know you as well would take part.
  • A lot of young internet phenoms may be quite interested in the tourney since i'm assuming that they follow canadian laws and allow people between 19-21 to play. Which obviously gives an edge over the american tourneys at 21, and canada is more convenient than going to europe.

that extra demand should help demand for sats

I'm pretty sure its still 21+ because its a WPT event, I could be mistaken.
  • I wouldn't be surprised to see that the min age is 21, since the winner of the event also wins a seat into the WPT Final. The Degree Poker Tournament had the same sort of thing.

As for other sat's, once Fallsview gets off their ass and starts running then, look for Bristol Street to run Super-Sats into Fallsview's Sat.
  • I'm pretty sure it's 19+. The Pokerstars Carribean Adventure WPT event for example is 18+, and I've heard several 19 year old players in the states mention they'll be coming up to play this one. If a 19-20 year old wins the seat in the WPT final I think they just forfeit it, I'm sure I've seen this adressed somewhere probably on Pokerstars for the PCA.
  • The buy-in will be $10,300 CDN, and you only have to be 19 to play in any of the events. Fallsview will be the only live place to play Satellites/Supers to the main event - as soon as the approvals are received from the Gaming Commission. The event itself is approved, they are awaiting the approvals for their intended formats for each event - until then, no Satellites. Entries will be available for purchase through Fallsview directly if you do not wish to try your luck at the Satellites. Online sites can not purchase their seats until all approvals are granted, then they to will be running Satellites. The contract is a long term deal with the WPT, it will be an annual event, with the possibility of expanding to more than one event based on demand.
  • Is there just goin to be the main event or will there be a few leadup tournments? anyone have any details on that?
  • The WPT Canadian Poker Open will be from October 22-24. The North American Poker Championship will follow on October 25-29. As pokermojo posted before, there may be a couple more tournaments with much lower buy-ins.
