CPT Satelite... Convince Me !
I saw that the CPT is holding an event at Point Edward CC near Sarnia
which is a fairly short drive (2nd closest casino to me).
My tournament play has been getting better as the result of
reading a couple books and figured this would be a great event
to measure my improvement.
Cheap $100 buy in - great !
Oh wait, this is a satelite to a $300 satelite.
So i should pay $100 for a chance to win $200 ?
Or, i could pay the $300 satelite entry fee
to win a seat in the $500 event. Again, paying $300 to win $200.
Wouldnt it make more sense to cough up the $500 for
the Bluewater Classic main event and play for the money ?
Let me hear your opinions.

The $100 and $300 tournaments are not satellites into larger tournaments. They are just regular multi-table tournaments, but they offer a buy-in to the next tournament as an additional prize to whoever happens to come in 1st place.
There will still be standard looking monetary tournaments payouts for 1st place, 2nd place, etc for the $100 and $300 tournaments. The additional tourney buy-in awarded to the 1st place finisher will have a relatively small effect (if any) on the overall prize pool.1
Also note that the $100 tourney has one optional re-buy of $100, so (depending on the blind structure, among other things) you may want to be prepared to buy-in to this tourney for the full $200. The other two events have no re-buys.

1The additional 1st place prize would be either paid for using a piece of the earlier tournament's prize pool, or donated by the casino out of the goodness of their heart. I wonder which it could be...
(The advert in Canadian CardPlayer Magazine
only mentions the tournament entry as the prize)
