Continuation Bets

I know every situation is different and it depends on position, player read and yada yada yada, but I am looking for a rule of thumb.

How often does everyone make a continuation bet? 50, 75, 100% of the time?

Also what amount does everyone prefer to use, such as a percentage of the pot?

46.5434% of the time and make the bet 44.2326%.  It will yield a +EV of 2.5 on the total bets

No rules of thumb if you're going to be successful.  Every situation is different based on flop texture, opponent style, your position, the relative stack sizes, blind levels, tournament stage.   It all boils down to "do you think your continuation bet will win the pot or help you win the pot on a later street".

Why do so many responses always refer to tournament play? I read the OP and think it means cash games. Just an observation as of late.

Whenever it's believable. If I raise from late position (with 78 suited, of course!), only the BB calls and the board comes A-K-rag I'll bet or raise. He may have called with pocket kings, but it's unlikely. It's more likely that I hit the board. If it comes coordinated low cards and he leads out, I'll generally fold if I don't have a draw.

Like everything, it depends. I'll do it the majority of the time if I raised pre-flop and got callers. I'll do it less if there are multiple callers behind me.

I tend to pot it as a rule of thumb. Depends on stack sizes relative to the pot though.

Because it's WSOP time! Then after that, gettin' jacked for WPT satellites at Fallsview, it's tourney season!
