I picked it up as well. I haven't really had a chance to play it much.
One problem I have noticed is that it can be difficult to read the suit of your cards.
Other than that it's nice to use the headset to ask why someone would call a 4xBB raise with 7-2 out of position. Of course, they don't usuually answer they tend to just leave the table
I think playing for fake money is a great way to get used to the software and should be done ( when possible) on any new site you try for that reason. On the other hand, although, you do get some people who play for real money as though it doesn't matter and a lot of players, especially at low money levels, who don't know how to play very well, the play is quite different between the two.
I personally found playing for fake money wasn't as much help in improving my game as getting a piece of serious poker training software. At least the bots play as though the money means something. You still get the experience of having someone who will go all in with any ace or king at times (ARRGH!!) but that also happens in real sit-n-go's. The software also allows me to run hand statistics and set up any tournament structure out to as many as 8000 players.
There's still no escaping the fact that if you want to be a good real money tournhament player you will, sooner or later, need to play in real money tournaments. Same for cash games nothing can replace the experience of the real thing.
I picked up a copy and have been playing it non stop since it came out.
I find it to be a very challenging. You can't bluff a computer. All that said
my home game has improved.
I got it for PC, but I'm very disappointed. Been playing it multiplayer primarily, and there are many connection issues. The interface is also highly lacking. Could be decent after a few patches, but I don't think it's going to get much support. I'd stay away, for now. And the single-player AI is decent, but flaws have been found by the experts.
That said, for any players of the PC version, I'm a member of a small league. (Two games weekly.) Let me know if you're interested in joining.
If you're looking for poker with a good graphical interface, give the pkr.com beta a try.
