Hello,
I just started playing poker after discovering Poker Night Live after getting CGTV when my cable company foisted a monster package on me (25 channels, but you can't pick which ones)
Anyway, watching PNL helped me to start understanding the strategy a little better. I'd tried online poker before but quickly lost my chips through bad play. My brother was big into online poker for a while. I find that I don't like games until I start to understand the strategy.
Since then I've been watching PNL religiously and playing fake money poker online. I'm not sure if I'm going to continue to play for fun, or move into real money poker. I've tracked my progress, and from $440 (playmoney, my first buy-in for a sit&go) I've just hit $4075, with an all-time high of $4405.
I'm pretty good to finish in the money, which isn't saying much because usually you could sit-out the game and finish in the money, but fair poorly at cash games (still fake money).
I do struggle head's up. Like I said, I'm still not sure if I want to start playing for real money. Although it's looks like I'd soon be rich, I'm sure that if at least 2 people play better at any specific sit&go because it's real money, I'd go from finishing in the money in 2/3rds of my games to rarely finishing in the money.
My other hobbies focus mostly on Miniature Wargaming, as can be seen on my site: http://tyler.provick.ca

Remember Play Money victories, although nice, are noting like real money games. Idiots like me sometimes play with play money and donk off as many chips as possible.
Ease into the real money games and remember sometimes you do lose money.
I just watched a very entertaining Canadian movie about a bunch of math students counting cards for their teacher. At one point the teacher, who's an addict, warns one of the kids that it's fine to play, but if you aren't careful you need to win to live.
I know some people dream of becoming Pro. Personally, I wouldn't want to have to win to earn a living
Also Fake money is a joke, when im bored i use play money and go all in every hand to see the outcomes.
