Rebuy Tourney: Hand 6, I'm behind when the chips go in

This is pretty much the *only* significant hand all tourney where I had the worst of it with a lot of chips going in.

This is the hand I've been thinking the most about how I played it. Comments very much appreciated.

The opponent was new to the table, so I had no real read on him. More importantly, I knew that he had *not* seen the very aggressive style I had been playing with at this table.

Comments

  • I don't think I would've called his check-raise all-in, especially since he was new and you didn't have a read on him yet.
  • I'd like to say that I wouldn't have played this hand the same way, but I would have played this hand the same way. Pocket pair vs. pocket pair when both pockets are higher than the board are pretty tough to lay down, at least they are for me.

The fact that he was new means he is completely unpredictable, and that's a good flop to use to bluff into a preflop raiser. Unfortunately, he wasn't bluffing. Would you play it the same way again?
