Any WorldPokerExchange Players??? Rake Free Site -- article in Cardplayer

Was just reading my new issue of Cardplayer and there was an article on this site, 100% rake free poker -- sngs, mtts, ring, you get 100% of your rake back directly from the site. Apparently this has been going on since this April, I'm going to download it and check it out. Anyone here play there at all? How do they do this? From the article, this is a poker site branching from a major sportsbook site (added bonus) and the have poker to attract customers to other games -- move over Bodog, this could be the next big thing.

  • Well, I downloaded it to check out the game selection -- very low limit site except for holdem ring.

For all you lower limit MTTeras the $11 $1000 guaranteeds always seem to have a field of 80 or so, so you get a bit of an overlay.

Sng selection disappointing, highest limits are $30 entry and the games are all 10 handed.
  • far as i can tell, they take rake, then give 100% of it back on a weekly basis, they would make money through a combination of the interest from holding the rake for a week and drawing customers to it's sportbook..

Far as I can tell, traffic is all this place needs to become a major player..

I have heard rumors of them using bots, but who knows

Know whats great? The fact that every time a rake-free site pops up, theres always a rumour they:

    1) Run bots
    2) Are owned by Dutch Boyd
    3) Don't deal a fair game
    4) Are broke

Think the already established poker sites don't have something to lose via rake-free poker? Think maybe they JUST MIGHT start an astroturf campaign to hurt thier credibility early?

    Just an idea..

i completely agree, did i say they use bots? i thought it was pretty non-commital on my part, something thrown on the end as something i'd heard...
  • The only catch I've heard with WPEX is that if they pay a Neteller Insta-Cash fee for you you have to play a certain amount before you can withdraw or else you need to re-imburse them the fee.
