The exact game of 15-30 isn't normally offered at Brantford. At comparable limits, they usually have 2 or 3 tables of 10-20 going, and 1 or 2 tables of 20-40. Session fees are $5 and $7 per half hour respectively. So, I'm guessing there would be a $6 session fee if there was enough interest to get a 15-30 game going.

Damn. I was thinking for some reason the 10-20 was $7. $5 is super bargain IMO.
By my math then, assuming 30 hands/hr, and assuming an avg of $4 rake taken per hand at 5-10 (or 2-5), then the casino pulls off about $120/hr at the raked games (that's a rough estimate, somebody can correct me whether the #hands &/or avg rake is reasonable). They pull off $100/hr at 10-20 (assuming full game) and $140 at 20-40. In terms of absolute $ taken then, almost all the games are semi-comparable (I'd argue that 10-20 is likely the least in terms of total $). And in terms of BB/hr obviously the higher games are ridiculously better.
One of these days I really need to put together a B&M BR to play 10-20.
yeah I've played there before thanks for reminding me, I HATE 11 handed play, I also dislike 10 handed play...how I long for those 9 handed games out west
We rake the $5-$10 game @ $5.00 max and session every other level. The 11 man table setup is a function of long wait lists, we have 10 tables in the Poker Pit, if we went to 10 man tables that would add 10 names to the wait list. Next anomaly is that every time a table goes short a couple of players the first reaction from the players is to break the table rather than play short. Guess different strokes for different folks.
So are you saying that your games tend to break in the wee hours rather than run short do to most players' preferences? Just curious as a fair amount of my profit comes from the last few hours of a session when the game is 4-6 handed.
The lower stakes games will usually break, the higher limit games especially $30-$60 and higher will play short especially in the wee hours. The wee hours make up a small portion of the playing day and for the most part our players at least seem to prefer a full field especially in the $10-$20 game. The reason beats me, I also prefer a smaller field for several reasons: better odds to start with, but also more hands per hour for my session fee and several others. I don't question my player's motives, they ask and if we can accommodate we will.
Cheers,
Lee
I've been at this in the Toronto area for almost 15 years and it has been pretty much the same in every place I've worked...11 man field and a full field is highly preferred, hence the foolishness with "main tables" and such.
