I miss ScottyZ

Not to start a man-flirting thread, but tomorrow will be a month since his last post. He was one of the "landmarks" when I first joined the forum last summer, and it's not quite the same without his insight (and humour). Hopefully he'll grace us with his presence again soon...

  • Yeah, I miss him too. Admittedly I don't have time to post here as much as I used to, but I miss at least reading his stuff if not responding to it.

Scotty, dude... c'mon back! The forum, she misses you!
  • Does anyone remember when Gary Larson retired? He drew the comic The Far Side. The funny pages seemed a lot less funny without his daily strip. I could always count on that comic to brighten my day.

Well, that's EXACTLY how the forum feels to me without ScottyZ. Don't get me wrong, I still get a chuckle (and good tips) out of CPF.ca, but I don't seem to laugh out loud nearly as much.

    COME BACK SCOTT!!!!

  • Scooooooooooooooooooooooooooooty Zeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

    Come back dude :'(
  • It's ironic that we post on this board in an attempt to bring Scotty back but since he could only read this if he was back we wouldn't need to post this in the first place.
  • 30 days hath September.....

    April, May and November....

    Come back to CPF ScottyZ.

uhhhh ya.... it sounded better in my head.
  • As Scotty would say This post has been moved to advertising and the original poster warned about not following the rules. LOL
Ok Scotty you can come back now.
  • I am currently being held hostage by the Forum Trunk Monkey.

Send bananas laced with chloroform. Stat.

  • Spending all my nights,
All my money going out on the town
Doing anything just to get you off of my mind
    But when the morning comes,
I'm right back where I started again
Trying to forget you is just a waste of time

Baby come back, any kind of fool could see
There was something in everything about you
Baby come back, you can blame it all on me
I was wrong, and I just can't live without you

All day long, wearing a mask of false bravado
Trying to keep up the smile that hides a tear
But as the sun goes down, I get that empty feeling again
How I wish to God that you were here

Now THAT'S man-flirting, gentlemen.  Ain't nobody gonna beat that down, suckas.  That's about as close to gay as you can get without actually being gay.  Choke on it.

Welcome back Scotty!  Now please comment on my "Party Ramblings" post.  Make it witty.

And please tell me how often QQ will encounter KK or AA at a full table.  And please show your work.

    Thank-you sir.

I guess you're even happier to see him than I am ;)

    I miss MickeyHoldem.

    :)

Okay, thankfully I was rescued from the FTM by JTF2 by a daring top secret rescue misson. Oh wait a minute. The kidnapping never took place in the first place. Yeah, that's the story. And the trunk monkey is stickin' to it.

Seriously now. I just moved to Guelph a few weeks ago, so I have been pretty busy with that lately. I've still been an occasional CPF lurker while I've been "away", and hopefully I'll get back into posting more in the not too distant future.

That's interesting that Gary Carson came up here. I've always enjoyed his cartoons. Here's my fave:

    I'll give it a shot. :)

    To all_aces, with warmest regards:

It must have been cold there in my shadow,
to never have sunlight on your face.
You were content to let me shine, that's your way.
You always walked a step behind.

So I was the one with all the glory,
while you were the one with all the strain.
A beautiful face without a name for so long.
A beautiful smile to hide the pain.

Did you ever know that you're my hero,
and everything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle,
for you are the wind beneath my wings.

It might have appeared to go unnoticed,
but I've got it all here in my heart.
I want you to know I know the truth, of course I know it.
I would be nothing without you.

Did you ever know that you're my hero?
    You're everything I wish I could be.
I could fly higher than an eagle,
for you are the wind beneath my wings.

Did I ever tell you you're my hero?
You're everything, everything I wish I could be.
Oh, and I, I could fly higher than an eagle,
for you are the wind beneath my wings,
'cause you are the wind beneath my wings.

Oh, the wind beneath my wings.
You, you, you, you are the wind beneath my wings.
Fly, fly, fly away. You let me fly so high.
Oh, you, you, you, the wind beneath my wings.
Oh, you, you, you, the wind beneath my wings.

Fly, fly, fly high against the sky,
so high I almost touch the sky.
    Thank you, thank you,
thank God for you, the wind beneath my wings

Guelph? That's only a 1/2 hour from K-W. Maybe this (http://pokerforum.ca/forum/index.php?topic=9218.0) will whet your appetite!

Yes, I was actually considering this one.

As of today, I think I do feel insane enough to play in a poker tournament designed to last 24 hours. The real question is whether or not I can maintain this level of insanity up until the tournament date.

    Chances, I think, are good.

    :D

nah i was just gonna say on the topic of Gary Larson s F ar Side, I really liked Bloom County by Bearth Berkhead i believe.
hey Beanie that 24 hr poker thing sounds interesting, wonder if my wife would go for that seeing its for charity..
then again she thinks my poker playing is charity...
welcome back from that trunk ScottyZ, what kind of monkey was it. Did it look like Paula Abdul? Or the planet of the apes type?
Did or do they play poker?
  • what kind of monkey was it.

It's pretty much just your standard monkey, but in an unusual location. :)

Here's some video footage of a similar (but slightly more famous) trunk monkey in action:

    http://www.trunkmonkeyad.com/

Please note that our own forum trunk monkey has not yet finished its midwifery training, so don't get any ideas from video number 5.
