Degree May 5th - On to Round 2 :-)

I'm off to Wonderland this morning so I will send a longer post tomorrow with a full day's report. Somehow I managed to get picked in the walkup draw and made it to through to the next round on Monday morning. A total of 36 on Monday of 240 will make it through to the next round (then I will get a chance to play some real poker with realistic blinds and lots of chips). I will try to plug pokerforum.ca if I get a chance! Good luck to everyone on Sunday if you are playing or taking a chance at the walkup.

Careful what you say on camera.
    When you signed the release,
you agreed not to promote 'Non-Sponsors'.
  • AWWWEEESSSOOMMMEEE!

I'm glad to hear one of us got into Round 2. I was yet again denied a walk up seat. I'll be there Sunday - looking mighty desparate :).

    Take it down JAH!
  • Congratulations! Did you first play tight in the first two blind levels, or were you loose-aggressive right away? A LAG from the free bar league I play also made it to Round 2.
  • thanks everyone for the encouragement! It was really weird poker, let me tell you. I think I only had the opportunity to bet on the river once. It was basically all in bets pre-flop or on the flop. Everyone at the table had Ms of around 3 and we were all trying to survive hand after hand. If you didn't win a hand every round or two, you were basically out of the tournament. Lots of calling stations as well so trying to raise preflop always resulted in a few callers. Same starting chips and blinds next round, so again it will be a crap shoot. Hopefully the caliber of players will be the same in the next round. More to follow on Monday!

  • Having round 2 as the same structure as round 3 is kind of crappy...I find that you have less weapons in your arsenal to dispose of, but best of luck again!
