  • Anybody else have a problem with this quote:

"Going to the casino and playing for money is gambling, but playing tournaments is not gambling. It's basically a contest, just like, I would say, Tiger Woods goes and plays golf. He plays a contest, he doesn't go and just play golf. He's actually in a tournament competing against other great players."

Nice rationalization, luckbox. Although I would imagine in some fairness that the media would probably take the most retarded of his quotes to publish, since that seems to be what sells.
  • Yeah that's a good one. I didn't know Tiger paid 25K to play in those golf tournaments. go figure.
  • "pursue the card game full time."

""I'm not a gambler," said Matthew"

yeah, uhhhmmmm let us know how that one works out for ya
  • Congrats. He regularly plays at a Woodbridge game.

He's 1 of those guys who doesn't gamble other than poker, but it's still gambling. I notice a lot of people who otherwise never gamble except poker.
  • The difference between poker and pro sports the element of chance.

You never hear about a pro hockey player getting unlucky against a first time player and losing.

In poker - you cant rule this out.
  • he's right in the sense that it's not gamlbing by means of strict odds less than 50%, but that's like saying some HAS to win the lottery so it's not gambling.
