Experience Saves You Money! Have a look!

Okay, this scenerio happened to me before, so that's why i'm not pissed off. Just very happy it happened before, or else I could have lost a lot of money. Have a look, and tell me can this possibly happen 6 handed in a real table game?

  • i play alot of live poker, often 5-7 handed, this isn't a big deal. before i had alot of B&M experience i would wonder alot more than i do now.
  • Most people don't play enough live poker and what little they do they never see that. I"ve seen everything playing live. AQc vs AQd and one dude hits his royal flush on an all in pre flop. Me personally got all in with KK vs QQ we both flopped a set then he turned quads. On line everyone would say it's rigged. I actually commented to the dealer that live poker is rigged.
  • Nice hand. I would have been raising all the way down.
  • It has been mentioned before. I've have seen a lot in live games..moreso than on-line. My favourite home game scenario was have 4 people with AA, KK, QQ, JJ in a game. It was nuts.
  • Set vs set happens, not often.  Not sure why you think its not possible in a 6 max game.  It's less likely but it will happen once in a while (and stand out, especially if you lose).

I have been doing a bunch of 10+ tables of $25 - 100 PL and NL and you see these rare hands happen about as often as they should.  Sometimes they are even crazier like

A 2 out flop followed by a 2 outer outdraw on the turn followed by a 1 out redraw on the river beats a mere set vs set any day  :D
  • or else I could have lost a lot of money

Shorthanded with one limper and you limp with 88?  You flop a set and check and call it all the way down?  If you play all your big hands this I want to know where you play because you are SAVING me a lot of money.

I don't see where you saved any money at all.  It was capped every street but the river.  Actually if you had been in there raising too then rapscallion7 probably would have slowed down and you might have saved some bets. If your experience tells you that you are behind why didn't you fold instead of LPP'ing it all the way down?
  • Private club, full table

Button & BB both have AA

    UTG has KK

    MP has QQ

    Home game, 6 handed

3 players sitting next to each other have AA, KK, & QQ in that exact order
  • This cannot possibly happen it is guarenteed rigged.
  • I remember one time I was playing in a tournament with some friends, and two brothers at my table were both dealt AA. They slow played all the way to the river, one went all in, the other called, and a girl who was playing called.

The one turned over his Aces thinking he'd won, the other brother then turned over his aces, and the girl turned over her flush, which theyd let her draw to completely for free.

    It was hillarious.
  • I use to HATE online poker because of all the bad beats. But it was only because I was playing only once a week with my buddies and Joe is right, you never ever see that stuff. Then I started playing a ton of live poker and it all evened out. Playing 4 tables online...no wonder you see more stuff that you don't normally see playing casually in live games.
  • a buddy of mine online had AA, another guy had KK, another guy had JQspades, final board read As Ks Ax Kx 10s .. not sure of the order of board cards or the action, but i know that he lost with quads over quads, both to a royal
  • This just happened to me 2 days ago.  This was my first hand at this table

The guy must have flipped when the pot didn't move towards him.

I was playing 4 tables and didn't even realize what he had until somebody said he had quads.
