Degree Walkup - May 3rd

Any forum members planning to try the walkup draw for May 3rd? If so, can you please report back on how it went. I'm interested to see how many people actually show up for the walkup draw. I have a buddy playing on Friday so I will likely go down with him to give it a shot.

  • As I will be playing on Thursday evening at the 6pm seating, we are going early, as my wife will try for a walk up seat. Why not? trying to convince some friends but it appears work will hamper there chances. Once again good luck to all. See ya's there
  • If I can scam a day out of work I'll be there. Right now not looking good.
  • I will be trying my luck at a walk up seat tomorrow. I'll try to remember to post how it went. Hopefully, my head will be full of thoughts of Round 2. :D
  • I'll be heading down tomorrow to try and win a walk-up seat.
Registration is from 8a-10a...but does anyone know what time you need to get there by to avoid any mass line-ups?
  • hey this is G-didi's b/f,

a friend of mine did the walk-up last year,
said they were there at 8 and there was a big line already
so if this year's the same, probably good to get there before that.

I'll be there thursday, first group 8am.  Should be fun, even though i have
to work all night and drive 2hrs to get there.  I'll be poppin caffiene pills for sure.

    Good luck everyone !!
  • If you tried the walkup today, please let me know what time you think you need to arrive to ensure you are entered into the draw. How many people do you think actually showed up for the lottery?
  • I was in the tourny but the walk-up line was pretty big. They said the draw was occuring at 10:15 each day so you need to register by then.
  • what time did you start? how big is big (100, 1000)? too bad they didn't accept players for the early start. 40 empty seats could have easily been filled.
  • I started at 8 am and walked past the line around 9 am. I would say at that time there were at least 400-500
  • I just got back from the walk up draw. I will be going back tomorrow (lol). They stated there were about 300 ballots for 125 seats! Not bad odds. I went with my friends brother. He got a seat. The odds were nice and the lady who was drawing was nice too (insert drooling smiley here). TSN was there to cover it so hopefully I will be in this year telecast - if not as a player than as a hopefull.

I am going back tomorrow. I think the crowds will increase. Due to peoples work committments the draw today was probably the lowest turnout.

It was well done tho. When you register for the draw you show picture ID. They then check the list of confirmed entrants to make sure you are not trying to get a ballot (for a friend) when you are already in. You then get a plastic wristband to again confirm that you were the one who waited. Well done Degree.
  • thanks for the update; wish I could have tried today as you are correct, a lot of those individuals that didn't make it in today will try again tomorrow and Friday. Unfortunately Friday is the only day I can make it. Better odds than I expected. Good luck tomorrow! Hopefully I won't see you in the line on Friday :D
  • lol - hopefully you are right - in case you do I am 6'3" - probabaly wearing a black coat - brown hair, glasses, skinny guy. Say "hi" if you do see me there Friday.

I totally agree, especially about the lady drawing the numbers.

I got there around 9:15a and there was no line to get a ballot...unfortunately I was never picked.
I heard from a friend who watched some of the 1p session that 7 out of 25 tables were empty...I don't know if that means that there'll be a ton of extra spots for Thursday's or Friday's draw.
  • Anyone win?
