B&M Newbie

Hi everyone, I've never played at a casino before cause I was 18 now that I'm 19 I looking forward to hitting some casino's but I don't know which ones are good - bad or what the enviroment is like.
I currently play $600NL @ pokerstars but I play several tables so live I'm prob looking for either $1000NL or $2000NL. Anyone know of any good casinos in the Toronto area where these stakes are offered? Also ontop of that, I'm wondering are there any un-capped live NL games around? Cause I much rather play deepstacked as opposed to standard 100bb buy in.

Thanks. :)

  • Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort offers 10-25 NL and 25-50 NL on the weekeds. During the Degree Poker Championship, there may also be even higher limits!! The 25-50 NL is a $10,000 max buy-in with $9/half hour session fee. For more information, check the website.

    OUT
  • where does a 19-year old get that kind of money ???
  • nuthin like that around the city (officially).

I wouldn't bet my life playing with the kinds of people who would play those stakes anyhow (and I am not joking).

I believe he is referring to the max buy-in at the table, ie: $600 Max buy-in NL (which I think is $2-$5 blinds). $1000NL would be something like $5-$10 blinds, not $1000-$2000 blinds.

Correct me if I am wrong, TalentedTom.

yeah thats exactly what I mean - i thoguht it was preety clear :)
I think my post was misinterpreted - Im not looking for games with 25-50 blinds - im looking for around 5/10 with a high buy in. Somwehere around $2000-4000 does this exist?
  • No. Fallsview will occasionally have a nice 5/10 game going, but you have to play 10/20 to get 2000NL. If you can beat the $3/$6 on-line games, you should be able to do okay at Fallsview 10/20.

There are sometimes deepstacked NL games run in the city, but they are often v. sketchy. I think the Airport Club may offer 5/10 NL, check the Home Games section. The only place I know that runs $3000 NL is not a place I would recommend playing.
  • Windsor spread a juciy $5-$10 NL game.
