Heading to Vegas

Hey guys! I have started booking my first trip to Las Vegas. I am wondering of all those out there who have been wouldn't mind taking a second to tell me what poker room served them best, what in their opinion was the best limit to play and what kind of a bankroll required for a four day trip. My trip is 7 months away so I have plenty of time to bank my starting roll. I havent had too much no limit experience, but more experience with limit holdem and limit online holdem. Feel free to add any tips like what shows and sights to see, freebee's to take advantage of, etc. Accomidations are already taken care of just waiting for a seat sale to get a cheap flight there and back. I am pumped to be going. All your feedback will be appreciated.

  • Do a search for "Vegas Trip Reports", there are a ton of good ones to read through, you should be done by the time your flight is leaving.

  • no real advice to offer, but I will wish you the best of luck :)
  • Caesar's has a great poker room. If you want some higher limits (than 1-2 or 2-5) you can try Bellagio and Wynn. I don't think the Bellagio even runs a 1-2 game.
  • He plays limit. I know you are talking nl. There isn't any 1-2 limit in Vegas. 2-4 at Stratosphere, Sahara, Excalibur, Imperial Palace, basically any of the smaller casino's. 3-6 only and up at the larger ones.

I'm pretty sure Exaclibur holds a 'Learn to play holdem' thing that results in them starting a 1-3 Limit game.. Thats the smallest game you'll find in Vegas..

Everyone knows Stardust is the best place to play in Vegas..
  • I saw a (one blind) $2 game in Vagas at the Sahara when I was there, that was kinda cool. It was also a limit game not NL.

  • Since this is your first trip to Vegas, please post a trip report when you return!

    Best of Luck to you.

Yeah I forgot about the 1-3 but the rake on that game is one of the worst.

Ya 1-3 spread limit with one $1 blind. It's the equivalant of "Drinking with poker chips".
  • I've never been to Vegas so I'm not speaking from experience but there's tons on info on the net. There's plenty of poker room reviews and you can even call the hotels on their toll free lines and speak directly to the poker room to find out specifics on the games they are holding.
