XBB/100 Dumb Question of the Day
Excuse my ignorance, but what is X BB/100. I assume it is some measure of win rate but I would sure appreciate an clarification of exactly what it means so I can better understand the posts I read.

Pre-internet poker it was referred to as BB/hour... but online an hour has no meaning when you can multi-table and get in in excess of 400 hands per hour thus the switch to BB/100.
For live limit play a good winrate was 2 BB/hour... for online play, good is 5-8 BB/100... of course these numbers must be taken over a large sample... somewhere around 50,000 hands to become significant... and they are always debated!!
Personally, I would consider any positive winrate good!!
Edit: There are no dumb questions!

Yes... that would be good... however a single session is much to small for you to conclude anything from this... A single year of live play is probably too small a sample to get an accurate winrate unless you play an awful lot... and I mean ALOT!!
I had over 400 hours of live play in 2005 and my overall winrate still takes huge swings after a session.
As for the live winrate isn't 1BB/hour considered good at mid limits and nearly impossible over the long run at 2/5 due to the rake?
Not Big Blinds but rather Big Bets. In a 2/5 game the big blind is 2 but if you are winning 1 BB per hour you are winning $5 per hour after rake and tokes.
