I guess there's no downside in a tourney, but when someone does this in a cash game and successfully manages to drive up the rake...ugh...I'd have some choice words I think... Not to mention I find the bet utterly insulting...

You might find it insulting Scoob, but I did just that in a cash game and got 1 caller then the next 2 both folded. Ended up with a 2 way chop rather than 4. Combine that with rake back and it can be worth the risk. Mind you if all call and you drive up he rake you are not very well liked.
