Horse at the WSOP?

Hey guys,

Has anybody heard of this happening at the WSOP?

Big entry but larger prize money. It looks like you have got to know your poker game for this one.  :D

  • A little of everything, and will define who is the best all around poker player.
  • I think one of the primary motivations is an attempt to limit the field and allow skill to determine the winner. The ME (and even the "smaller" events) has gotten so big, that while skill is involved, simply being lucky (or avoiding being unlucky) is a much bigger factor than skill. I'm really looking forward to watching this, as very few amateurs will make it (let alone survive).
  • Is there an anticipated favourite for this event?

And who do you like for this event?

I would have to guess a player like Doyle would be a strong competitor in such a diverse event.
  • I assume Ivey would be the favourite. He's always the favourite. All the "big game" players would be expected to do well.
  • This event starts right in the middle of my vegas trip & I plan on going (to watch). It will be great to see tables full of pros.
  • I think I gotta take good ole Canadian Boy Daniel N. for this one. I hope ESPN does a long telecast of this as it will be great to watch.
  • I thiink if ESPN is smart they will give this event ME type coverage (ie wire to wire) and not just final table coverage like the smaller events.

The players will all be superstars and if you want to see them really going at it this will be the event.
  • Sadly the final table is NLHE, which I imagine will get the bulk of the coverage :'(

Really? That's kind of dumb. It defeats the whole purpose.

I think this is one evnt where the final tanle will consist of mostly pro players. I could see Daniel N, Brunson, Ivey and the rest at this one.
