Tournament Play

now I have your attention, I have been a pretty good tournament player however i have been reading more and more poker books that have me so confused.
you see, even following these advises from books they go against my winning stlye. Don t get me wrong, these people have made a living and are pro's, but people please keep in mind they are assuming your playing pro's or people that have a decent back ground. Remeber who your playing, on account the things these books preach usually don't apply. Since I have reverted to my old stlye(natural) I am continuing to get in money placement in tournies.
I know i'm gonna get feed back that will disagree with my thoughts. My point is not to discourage reading these books but know how to apply them, and against your field of fellow poker friends and guests.

    Do one of two things:
    a)Write your own book
    b)Enter the WSOP, or WTP, and we'll see ya on TV! :D

    The standard disclaimer in these books is that they are meant only as a guidline in the proper way to play.
    If you don't vary your style to counteract your opponents, they will walk all over you.

    I think one of the first things in Dan Harrington's book is that he says is find a style that you like and stick to it.

    Right Oh, big chris, and he also says to be $ucce$$ful, you have to switch styles, to keep the others guessing- that's the hard part!
