supreme poker is just the bees knees

ok, so i have $40 on supreme the other day and i start playing omaha with it. i take it up over $100 and i'm playing a $.50/$1 PL game when it all gets in the middle. My starting hand is 2345 rainbow and i make the nut straight by the turn. I push it all in and get 4 callers. the river is a brick for all their hands and i win a $433 pot.

now, last night i'm playing a $2/$4 PL Omaha game on supreme and make a little less than $200 more which makes my bankroll about $611 form $40 2 days before.

Here's the best part now kids. heres a hand i just finished

So i hope everyone noticed he pushed in all his money with a straight on a flushed board. And if you knwo anything about omaha, it was a terrible move. even if he was just trying to make a steal.

Whats the moral of the story here? Well, I took $40 up to what is now $910. it wasnt great cards (even though a straight flush is pretty good), it wasnt great play (along the line i made a few bad calls), it was really just terrible opponents.

i think if anyone with a basic understanding of omaha put just a few bucks on supreme they woudl make out like a bandit.

  • Did you work that $40 to $910 just playing omaha? i'm strongly considering this.

  • Wow. Good for you. I very impressed. Not the poker, the fact that most of your post is Fairly legible!!!!!! Way to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just kidding, bro. Very nicely played.

To paraphrase 'tnorth' Tom "Omaha is what Texas Hold'em was 2 years ago. Everybody is dumping in money, but nobody know how to really play!"

Again, well done, Johnny, well done!!

  • Well he did have the As so he knew no one could have the nut flush. But yeah pretty donk.
  • wow, i was playing an omaha freeroll on Absolute poker and i was doing extremely well. Then it hit me! It's so much harder for noobs to suck out on you in omaha when you have the fullhouse or nut flush which i where i always made my chips. This just proves it. 3 spades on the board, and its omaha and the guy is playing for lots of cash and just completely disregards it... Me thinks im gonna get into omaha when i next win some cash in a freeroll.

Mike, don't try and justify your call now.....

    lol

  • JUst bought into a $2/$4 PL Omaha game on supreme for $190 and finished off at $810

    OH-ME-HAW!!!!

  • I've decided to give up Holdem online and go into Omaha for the reasons above. In Omaha it is far easier to secure your hand than in holdem. For stakes less hundreds of dollars online, the qaulity of poker is just garbage. You can get your money in with the best hand, 60:40 or better, but they still manage to draw out on you. In Omaha you play patiently and get all your money in with the nuts, and they'll either be drawing dead or to runner runners.
  • I've never played on Supreme before but after hearing this story I think I just might give it a shot. $40 to over $910, good job
  • ditto. I'm not a great omaha player, but I've won a few sng's that I entered into my mistake, and I play omaha freerolls. I'm patient enough that I figure that maybe I can pull out a profit there too..
  • Looks like i need to get a book on omaha

YES! They call SS1 The Bible of Poker for a reason!!
  • I'll have to dig out SS2... I think its under my dirty laundry pile...lol

Any other good books to get me up to speed on omaha ?

  • YES! They call SS1 The Bible of Poker for a reason!!

Of course. I just figured that the reason was to sell more books ;)

I'll go pick it up on payday :P
