Rama - Big $ 500.00 CPT event
For those of you who signed up for the 5th, & 6th, $500.00 tournament. It has been cancelled.
I should add that the planning for this tournament was terrible! They have had this tournament announced for a while now and no posters, flyer's, satelites, nothing! One week to go and instead of reducing the days of play to one day instead of two they cancel the whole thing.
I an especially pissed off because to get my money back, you have to go there to get it.
I know I will think twice before going there again.
JUST VENTING.

I strongly believe that the CPT should get their act together. They should have 12 tournaments a year and spead them out coast to coast.
My dream would be to see an Ontario poker tour!
It was a Rama decision only.
Just to clarify a few things ... the CPT does not put on Tournaments nor do they sponsor any of the events. The individual Casinos across Canada choose to host the events, the Casinos pick the entry fee etc. The CPT is a clearing house of information to rank players and so on, they also provide prizes and lots of support to the annual final CPT Tournament, but even that event is hosted and put on by a Casino. They do provide support to the participating Casinos, lots of support actually, helping to promote the events, offering prizes and so on. There appear to be more events in the west but reality is there are more Poker Rooms in the west and therefore you will see more events. Look at Alberta ... Calgary has 6 Poker Rooms as does Edmonton, then the rest of the Rooms throughout the province, similar situation in BC. The CPT is a great concept, firstly being Canadian and secondly offering enough of a range that most bankrolls could afford. We host 6 CPT events a year and have been doing so since the CPT started, we actually hosted the first CPT event in Ontario. They have been very successful for our Casino and we will look at possibly increasing the number of events we will host. I don't know what happened at Rama or why the event was cancelled but am certain the CPT had no part in the decision.
Cheers,
Lee
I would guess that someone there pulled the trigger because there was another opportunity for those resources. What that opportunity might be? I have no idea.
All I know is that Rama doesn't really care all that much about poker.
