Shootout/double Shootout Tourneys

Has anyone played in a shootout tournament on stars (or anywhere else)? They have them as satellites for some of the larger buy-in MTT's.

If so, do you use a different strategy for these tournaments vs. a regular sit and go or other MTT?

I've played a couple. In general I think if you're used to playing single table SNGs, these are very similar. The only slight adjustment I think you need to make is that (especially in the first leg), you're playing for 1st. No squeaking into the money. Your goal isn't to outlast most of the field, it's to get all the chips. So sometimes you might make a slightly higher variance play, as long as it's going to give you a good shot at winning it. In the second leg, often there will be 2 seats at the higher buyin event and the rest get a smaller monetary prize. Your goal accordingly is to make top 2, finishing 1st isn't the priority (since the payouts for 1st and 2nd is the same).
