Wow does the field ever look tough.
I also heard that they finally have spread some big limit games in NY. Up until now they have never spread a game above the 20-40 limit.
This week with the big boys in town they have a 200-400 mixed game going.

  • Hey Kev,

How long does it take to get to Turning Stone? I have no idea where it is... I understand there's a new ferry running from Toronto to somewhere in NYS but I'm not sure where...

At any rate, how long would it take to drive there, and if you know anything about the ferry, would this make the trip shorter?

    Thanks,
    all_aces

ps: You're a busy guy! Have a great time in Vegas.
  • Hey buddy.
To get to Turning Stone from my house in Burlington it took only 4 hours with a quick gas up and burger king breakfast.
Thats to say it is exactly 3 hours and 30 mins driving time to the casino which is about 25 mins past Syracuse.
I don't know anything about the ferry yet.
  • Cool, thanks! I might plan a road trip there someday...
  • wow. What a massive pool of talent in this tourney...no Benny Affleck though? lol

Geez. I wish I could be a railbird @ this one.

I'd probably be up for something like this. It's drivable from Ottawa.

As for the ferry, I'm not sure if it's running as of yet, but it's supposed to go from Toronto to Rochester, NY.

I highly doubt the ferry would be faster than driving, unless there is a significant savings in distance (i.e. being a much more direct route). I don't know of many sea-going vessels that can do over 55 mph. (Or however fast you drive.)

  • I'm pretty sure the ferry is running, but IMHO not worth it. From their website - $54 per vehicle fare and it takes 2h15m from stop to stop... I'd imagine there would be some loading/unloading time thrown onto that... Plus reservations are required as far as I can tell.

The drive from TO to Rochester is about 2h30m. 250km on my car is about half a tank which would cost less than $20.
  • Scottyz likes to ride ferries.

  • Hey... the emoticons didn't work for me! At least I can't see them on my computer, but maybe you can. If not, what I meant to try to say was: LOL.

  • They are heads up.
The TV Live finale is going terribly, not lookin good for a retry in the near future.
Phil Ivey just took out John Juanda in 3rd place and now has a major chip lead to start the heads battle with the kid John D'Agostino.
Go Ivey, good to see him back on top!
  • I really hope Ivey wins :)
  • I read that Ivey won.
  • Ya Ivey is the champ.
Pretty good for the FullTilt crowd he, and Juanda going so deep.
Ivey was on fulltiltpoker playing his table within hours after winning this event, good start to their real money that just launched.
Also people are now disagreeing with the poor production fox sports was doing, a few early glitches seemed to be quickly fixed, and it was good for poker.
  • it was a great TV event IMO. Very well presented especially for being live and I enjoyed knowing that 9:58PM did not mean a game ending All-in race! Ivey played his usually game, got lucky on a 50/50 draw (A8o versus 77) and eventually beat out his opponent with JJ holding up against 55. It was poker overload tonite... WSOP, WPT, Late nite poker, Championship at the plaza, and the live Turning Stone event!!!
  • Ice:

What cable package do you have that you are able to see all of this? Satellite?

    Thanks,
    all_aces,
    very jealous.
  • yes, I have satellite. A Free-to-air receiver that picks up Dish network from the States... best money I ever spent :D
  • Damn.... sweet!

I gotta get me some of that. My g/f would love it. No Nip/Tuck tonight baby, POKER'S on!!!!
  • hahaha, lol. :D
