2 Pots for $1200 - To be Honest, Calls I Shouldn't Make Either

Here's some of the biggest pots I've won. Tonight, made some "in my opinion" good reads.. Pinhead, feel free to tell me these are pure "donk" calls.... ( I think they were). Both times should of (and was) scared of the flush and straight on board. Fell in love with my hand and had to call.

I know, what a DONK!! But, worked out okay I'd say!!!

Comments

  • that flop check with AA made me feel sick
  • Me too, gotta bet that set.
The second is just wow.... Flush possibility and 4 connecting cards... Just so lucky... may i ask when you called did you truly think you had the best hand, or did you just not want to lay down trips and wanted to see his straight or flush...
  • I don't disagree.

In Hand #1, was worried that if I bet out I would lose all others. Even knowing flush on board, took the chance and got lucky.

Hand #2, your totally right. NO WAY I should call here, but, took my chance. If I hadn't won the Hand before (#1), I probably would've folded.
  • Hmmm what i don't get is how people who play cash games generally have this tournament mentality where in they feel like theyre pot commited... You're never really pot commited (at least at the river) in a cash game unless its something ridiculous like a 20$ bet into a 400$ pot... I won't bore everyone with the reasoning behind pot commitment in tournaments, but it just boggles my mind when people call with the hand they're pretty sure they're losing because they already invested half their stack or 2/3s of it... If you think you're beat in a cash game you should fold...

side note: that is unless you're Folded_AA, that guy can call anything he wants :)
  • lol...
Not at all.. I was playing a rush, and, to be honest, never really analyzed your thought of "tournament mentality". I think that played a big part as well.
  • Yeah the flop check in the first hand and turn check in the 2nd hand are really gross. You should have won more. Nice pots though.
  • You need to bet that set in the first hand, you're only making money against a big ace or another set there anyhow. Looking at that hand you would have made alot more with a flop bet.
  • There is no way I could call the river bet in hand #2 knowing there's 3 clubs on 4 to a straight. Even after winning the hand before I don't risk my money like that. I pass my set.
  • same as everyone else has been saying. but was this NYC PIMP tilting at you or what? seems like you really had his number. nice pots.
  • Yeah the flop check in the first hand and turn check in the 2nd hand are really gross. You should have won more. Nice pots though.

Totally agree. And why in God's name are you check CALLING the turn in #2? You don't have to ALWAYS slow play sets...
  • wow, you've either got horseshoes up your arse, or have balls the size of watermellons.. I could never have made those calls, but, can't argue with the results. there's a nice mortgage payment in 5 minutes!
