League Member Gone Wild !!!!
We started this league that we play in at the beginning of the year. About 20 guys play in the league every other Friday night. This one guy who has been there from the start is usually an all right guy, he may drink a little too much on those nights but is for the most part under control. He gets annoying but nothing too bad plus it's great to have his money in the pot . Anyway last Friday he goes nuts. Waaaaaay too drunk and waaaay out of control. He causes the tourney to run way too long because of his drunken state. Not acting when it's his turn, just causing every delay imaginable. He suprisingly makes it to the final table and then when he goes all in and gets knocked out he says that he didn't go all in and then he says that the guy that took him out didn't have him covered. Anyway everyone heard him say all in and when the other guy takes down the pot and knocks him out of the tourney drunk boy goes nuts, throws his chips across the room, lifts up the table and almost topples it over spilling everyone's stacks all over the place. Then he goes on and on how he's going to kick basically everone's butt. Unbelievable !!!! We are all in the over 30 age group and he's acting like he's still in high school. Just wondering if anyone has experienced this and what they did to this member of the league. Oh and by the way because the tourney lasted so long and went passed 3 am everyone still there parked on the street got a $50 parking ticket. All because of this a$$.

If I ever had a member of my home game league do a stunt like that, it would be his last game at my home. I don't need that kind of bs. His ass would be thrown out and kicked down the street so fast, the dog wouldn't keep up to him. Or even worse, I'd turn the wife loose on him. He'd know he was in for it then, by GOD!!
I've played a couple of bar games where there would be one guy (also has to be one guy) that was just a rude ignorant ass, but a couple of times, wondered how he survived as long as he had (both in life as well as in the tournament). Seems like the drunks get the most luck. Most times, the organizers of the game handle it pretty well and tone the guy down abit, but sometimes it took the bar manager to kick him out, money in the game or not.
You can't get into my game without being vouched.

Nobody likes being responsible for a grown man. Anyways, I'm way off topic. I think the main problem that your eluding to is that "this one guy" is also good friends with several or most of the other league members, and perhaps the friendships preclude the league games, and also exist in other interactions outside of just the poker league. So straight up banning him, would put a real strain on friendships. Maybe "this one guy" when he's sober will realize what a jerk he was, and apologize profusely, and promise it'll never happen again. This is unlikely, since "this one guy" that I know, never remembers what an ass he was. Sort of comes with the name I guess. (i.e. he wouldn't be "this one guy" if he has the ability to patch up the mess he causes)
Here's my 2 cents. Give him a 2 or 3 game suspension. Not that you want him to come back in 3 weeks, but hopefully he'll get the hint, and over the next couple of weeks, find something better to do on his Friday nights.
good luck.
That's EXACTLY what the dilemma for the tour director is faced with. All the guys in the league that don't know this guy from Adam are not playing if he is around. The other guys in the league have known this guy for like 20 years ! So banning him is pretty much impossible. So the league might just cease right here. Too badd too it was a great time, except for last week.

Friends or no you need to deal with this person on an individual basis.
I would talk to him separately and explain to him if he has another performance like he did last game then he is gone.
I would then explain this to the league. One warning and that’s it.
His friends should understand that is fair and should respect that. If they don’t then they are all free to leave. If they were truly his friends they should have done something sooner before the situation got “out of handâ€
let the rest of the league know this type of behavior will not be tollerated in the future.
C) If it's humanly possible, keep it light, but let people undersand you mean business, not easy.
d) Good Luck
