This is awesome!

I read in CPP magazine about the new International Poker Ranking site where you can check out where you rank in the world. Although I do not qualify for their ranking system(yet), I looked up some others, such as Dave Scharf for example. I found that he is ranked as the #1 player alltime from Saskatchewan, #28 alltime from Canada, and #1226 alltime in the world.

I am not advertising for this site. As a poker player, I find this absolutely amazing and urge you to check it out. www.iprdata.com

  • I'm not in the rankings either, but someday. That is pretty cool.
  • It's kinda funny that there are only 3 players ranked from PEI... They all hit the money in the same $200 rebuy tournament in Regina.

Think they know each other??? :)
  • I'm not ranked either and I can't figure out why?....
after all I did win a West Side tourney last year, and I bet that field was tougher than those donk filled WSOP things they put on every year.
  • Fixed final tables don't count...you should come play the airport tourney tomorrow night
  • Their methodology is quite interesting.
Helps keep the one-hit wonders from rising to the top and rewrds consistant performances.

  • I notice there's this lone Canadian in the top 10 of all time, Daniel N. I wonder if anyone's heard of him? He musta lucked out in one of those WSOP things because I know he's not played a west side or a bristol.
  • I am not listed :'( , Devin is.

I don't think they keep track of all the tournaments, especially the GBH tournaments. (the only ones I have ever cashed in).
  • I think the list is interesting and obviously very time consuming to compile but it is also greatly flawed.

Just looking at the Canadians it seems way off. Dave Klassen is 98th? I find it a little off but pretty cool nonetheless.
  • haha im in there pretty sad rank though.
  • this is an awesome site, thanks for sharing dude!
  • Is anyone concerned about where this information is coming from and who has access to it? They are watching you!!!! My name comes up in a couple of places on the internet when you do a google search (CFL Draft 1999 and 2000, some articles I have written for my company, etc).

I know we often google job candidates to see if anything comes up after interviews before making a final decision. We actually had a long debate as to if poker should be listed on a resume, don't hijack this thread with that discussion, it's another thread. I personally don't mind when the above references show up, but there might not be some things that I want out there.

    To quote Harvey Danger:
    paranoia paranoia
    everybody's coming to get me
just say you never met me
i'm going underground with the moles
hear the voices in my head
i swear to god it sounds like they're snoring
but if you're bored then you're boring
the agony and the irony, they're killing me
i'm not sick but i'm not well
and i'm so hot cause i'm in hell
i'm not sick but i'm not well
and it's a sin to live so well

I played that guy at a RED HOT thing in Hamilton. Must be some good, came in with an entourage (bunch o' guys)(actually only one), and a camera crew in tow (actually, same as me, but I had to bring my own camera). Nobody wanted my autograph though...
  • To answer Dead Money's comment about what tournaments are in the database, CPP magazine said 2 of 3 criteria must be met for the tournament to be considered:

    1) Entry fee must be at least US$1000

    2) Field must be at least 200 players

    3) Prize pool must be at least US$100,000

Only players who money earn points.
Event must be played in a casino/cardroom/TV set

Events not included are Ladies only, Seniors only, weekly events, any event where more than 25% of the total prize money is not awarded in money, satellites, freerolls where qualification is performed through a time-based system of hours played, or "invitational" tournaments.
