Great Canadian Poker Tournament - No Longer?

I guess the Great Canadian Poker Tournament planned for The Docks in Toronto is no longer going to happen. Their website (www.greatcdn.com) is now down and www.greatcdn.ca seems to have a link for 'poker tournament at the docks', but this link takes you to an advertisement site for other poker sites. I hope Acid Joe cashed his $10k cheque.

    They are gone, done. They couldn't sell their product anywhere and as a result are gone. I know one investor in the company and his investment is history too. The 100K was going to be bankrolled off the selling of the show for the 10K. It's ok, they paid out in cash so the cheque I got to hold (which wasn't rubber) didn't need to be cashed. It's too bad I was looking forward to defending my championship. Oh well I got to keep the t shirt.

    This event always looked, to me, like a pump and dump.

    It was a weak tournament anyway (no slight to you Acid), but they did have cool jackets. I think they tried to use the tourney to get hot chicks too, but that didn't work either. Degree, here we come! (we being in general, not me personally).

    LOL I did get my picture in one of the jackets but unfortunately I couldn't keep it. I wanted the jacket. I didn't like the format either as you had to play wild and crazy from the get go. I know I got a few lucky breaks to win, but if you don't get a few of them you won't win a tourney period. 2 hands into the final table one dude goes all in and folded to me and I got rockets. Easy call and they held up. I know everyone in the audience was like WTF when I said call. He could have hit and I was long done. I got my coin, the t shirt but no jacket :(.
