I just got dumber...thanks to Johnny T
Ok, I have to say something. I've seen a few of "Devo's" episodes and now one of Johnny T's. Devin definitely does a decent job (I'm not a fan of the format, but 12am on SUnday...wow good timeslot, nothing is on ) , but jesus is Johnny T lost. Tidbits of advice responding to email questions regarding MTT results like playing fewer hands when you're shorthanded at the final table of a MTT (folding AT as a specific) and commenting on ITM questions by not answering, lol.
Devin, sit this man down and teach him some poker.

First of all, it's not 12am. It's 11 pm to 1:00 am, live Wed. to Sun. Repeats Mon. and Tuesday. And each night's episode(s) air from noon until 2pm the next day.
Thanks for your kind words regarding my performance so far. I've been getting a lot of emails, both to my home and PNL accounts, that have made me feel good about the live commentary. It isn't easy.... the game moves so damn fast, and there is no time to plan what you're going to say because you have no idea what's going to happen next. So, it's exciting.
I admit that I haven't watched a lot of Johnny's episodes. I haven't watched a lot of mine either though. I'm just too busy lately. But I will say that the job is unlike any other poker commentating job, except for maybe Lederer's task in the live Full Tilt Championship event. And even then, it was live poker, not online, and therefore the action was slower.
Does all of this make me some kind of poker commentating superhero? Certainly not. I have seen enough of my own episodes to know that I make mistakes from time to time, ie: saying that two players have gutshot straight draws when in fact only one does. Sometimes I get so wrapped up in something interesting from a previous hand that I miss parts of current hands, and I'm trying to work on that.
All I'm saying is, you gotta cut Johnny some slack. And hell, I don't even know if he NEEDS to be cut some slack. Again, I haven't seen all that much of it. But certainly, if you vehemently disagree with some of the advice he gives (or doesn't give) you should email him at expert@pokernightlive.ca and ask him about his thought processes. I'm sure he'd be more than happy to address your concerns.
I'm definitely glad you're watching though. My next show is this Wednesday night. Please email me a question that will be damn near impossible to answer in the space of approximately 40 seconds.Â
LOL, will do...just calling them like I see 'em.
Perhaps you could summarize Dave's blind stealing algorithm in the 40 seconds?
lol, I think the last episode I watched you said something along the lines of "If I'm not here, I'm tuning in"
Good to know you have a life.
Thanks for watching! Email the show!
(I should get those two lines tattooed on my forehead.)
